I saw a Captain America: Civil War gifset the other day and this fact suddenly struck me – Tony got shot in the head. Bucky shot him, that is how he got his black eye. He survived because of the glasses, but what if that shot had been an inch higher or lower?
Tony has said himself he is “just a guy in a can.” He doesn’t have any superpowers, and he threw himself into the fight with nothing more than a set of glasses, and a wrist/hand pulse thing. He got shot in the head and went straight from that, to being yelled at for not stopping Barnes. He had to beg to get the two days to bring them in – “next time I won’t be wearing loafers and a silk shirt.” meaning next time ‘I won’t be so vulnerable.’
I searched tumblr and google for ages to see if anyone else had picked up on this moment. I didn’t find anything which is making me paranoid that I misinterpreted it. However, this is my thought of the day about how strong Tony actually is. Just like Natasha and Barton in a way, he’s a regular guy when he’s not got his suit.
“Take that away and what are you?” – he’s a hero, an avenger, he is more than the suit.
I don’t think Chip made the return from Underbrooke, though, unless Rumple pocketed him before swaggering his way to the portal
I have a theory about that cup.
It smashed right when their relationship appeared to shatter, as not long after Rumple smashed it get away from Merida/Emma was that well scene. Then when their relationship was on the mend and they were being honest with one another in the underworld – it reappeared.
I think maybe that cup isn’t just a talisman for their relationship but a reflection of it as well. Like Belle smashed it when Rumple tried and failed to TLK her to get her memories back. However, it was whole again when he put the tonic in it to wake her up from being just Lacey.
Maybe I’m overthinking it, but I think perhaps when we see the cup again, it will be at a key moment – perhaps a turning point for them.
Some random thoughts for the day: – You guys are really not going to care that I’m doing NaNo. I’m so pumped for it already I went to choose my projects and realized that in fanfic terms, I’m not going to be writing much more in November than I do normally.
– I’m not going to write anything for Rumbelle is Hope. There’s a lot of fluff coming in Faith of the Heart, which I’ll be posting in the next week or two, and to be honest my schedule is crammed already. However, I do have a drawing I’ve been working on when the mood strikes me, so I’ll finish and post that for the event.
– In answer to the immediate question that statement sparks, no I can’t actually draw. I don’t know why I felt inspired to try, I haven’t done a drawing like this in 6-7 years. A couple of Saturday’s ago, I just felt like it and so I spent half the day getting the drawing started.
– I just need to vent for one sec my frustration at my procrastination levels. I want to write ‘all the things’ but I waste easily half my time, likely more. It’s really annoying!
Lol, I think it is just like Hotel California! Because I’m almost certainly going to do it again this year. I’d like to get out of my non-finishing slump. I just miss the old days, when it felt new and a little crazy to be doing.
Why don’t you mix it up then? Make it new and crazy again. By that I mean set yourself additional challenges.
I confess for me, just the 50k is kinda meh these days because I’m writing more than that every single month as it is. However, I’m still super pumped for NaNo because I can push myself, and use the magic of November to help me reach further than I could on my own. I don’t know if that makes sense.
So how about set a challenge to beat your personal best for a day’s writing? Or beat your record for how quickly you can reach 50k? Maybe set a goal that is beyond 50k? I don’t know how you are at consistency, but maybe challenge yourself to write every single day if you don’t normally. Then there’s non-word count challenges, like maybe doing a completely different sort of project from your usual, or I don’t know heh, but there are options 🙂
I don’t know how you feel about that, but maybe it could be new and crazy again with the right kind of extra spicy challenges. Just a thought.
Kind of. I need to take the time to flesh out the vague ideas I’ve got, and I’m trying to decide if it’s worth it.

Do it! Seriously, NaNo is amazing. I’ve been restraining myself from talking about it, as it’s not quite October and the site hasn’t been relaunched yet, but oh boy, I would recommend it so much.
This year is going to be my 10th anniversary, so I’ve been doing NaNo for a while and I love it 🙂 I write all year round these days but November is magical. It’s truly my favorite time of year.
I don’t know why, maybe it’s just being a part of something, plus the tools on the site for updating word count are kinda inspirational. I had to build my own word meter for the off season because I got addicted to it. It’s great for bribing yourself to write “just a little more” because everything is only ever a few hundred words out of reach.
Anyone in the fandom who is taking part should say their usernames and we can buddy one another and cheer each other on. You know if people want 🙂
Oh, I used to do Nano(won 9 years, was also a municipal liaison for 4 years), so I know how great it can be. But the last five years, it’s been kinda meh for me. So I’m debating.
Wow, I didn’t think quitting was possible, so that’s good to know. There’s a joke among the NaNo crowd I know, that NaNo is a bit like Hotel California – once you NaNo, you can’t go back 🙂 Also, being a ML – how cool is that? That’s really brave, I would never have the courage to do that.

Gold was still
in a daze when he locked up the shop and went to collect Bae from soccer
practice. He couldn’t quite believe the events of the past few hours. Belle
French, who was kind, warm, young, beautiful and far too good for the likes of
him, had spent the last couple of hours at his shop. Gold wasn’t entirely sure
where his spark of courage had come from to ask her on a date. There were a
couple of aspects to it.
One part was
that he had been castigating himself for never having noticed Belle before. So
when the opportunity presented itself, he didn’t want to let it pass by,
because he doubted he would get another. Another part was that he had been
expecting a polite rejection, and where was the risk if you already knew the
answer?
Ahh, the Gold men and their playdates. The Gold men are an irresistible force. May I prompt something? Though it might not take place for a little bit: The Gold men take their ladies out on a double date. They could both wear suits. Bring them flowers and candy. Okay, I’ll stop now.
You can certainly prompt it, I love prompts and they are always welcome 🙂 If I can make a prompt work then I will. Anyway, I can understand why your prompt scene would be cute but Bae is only seven, I think he’s a little young to think of Emma as anything other than a friend. Dressing it up like a date would be a bit weird, they are just kids.
I do have an idea which would fulfill the prompt, but probably not the spirit of it. What do you think of a flashforward to when Bae and Emma are 16 or something? Before they can drive (which I know is crazy early in the states, isn’t it like 15 or something with drivers ed?) and so Gold agrees to chauffeur and chaperone I suppose, hence the double date thing. Maybe it’s like a school dance or something which is why they would be in suits?

Yup, I figured a picnic would make the most sense given the time of day, and it sidesteps Gold’s concerns about Belle being seen in public with him for a short time. I suppose that will have to be addressed eventually. Small towns do love their gossip.

We have had tea in the kitchen and the living room, I don’t imagine the garden will be much different. Yes, it is outside but it’s an extension of my cottage really. Just a couple of steps from my studio, close enough to reach out with a hand and know where I am.
Truthfully my biggest concern is that we will run out of things to talk about, and the conversation will grow awkward. I’m amazed that hasn’t happened yet but Nick generally has a way of making everything feel more comfortable. *blushes* I will never tell him but I have quite the crush on him.

Synopsis: Following directly on from The War Within. Rumplestiltskin and Belle have a lot to talk about. True loves kiss might have woken Belle from the sleeping curse but their marriage won’t be fixed over night. They have a little less than nine months to sort themselves out as a couple – then they’ll become a family. It’s time for them to reconcile properly, and to finally have the courtship that circumstances originally denied them.
Note: I might be able to sneak another chapter in before tomorrow night. I’ll do my best but no promises. I really wanted to finish this before the premiere and well I certainly tried 🙂 but even if I do manage another chapter, that won’t be the end. My new deadline for finishing this is the end of the month but I don’t know if that’s going to happen either, this story is getting long. Anyway, enjoy!
The sun was
just starting to set when Rumplestiltskin heard Belle push open the front door
to the Victorian townhouse. He breathed a sigh of relief, as tension he hadn’t
even realized he’d been feeling faded away. Belle had come home. He had been
cooking dinner assuming that she would be here, even while he had a lump in his
throat in case she didn’t.
“Hey,” Belle
greeted softly, pausing in the doorway to the kitchen.
“Did you have a
good day?” Rumplestiltskin asked. His hand shook slightly, as his facade of
casual interest started to slip. He saw Belle’s eyes flicker down, and he knew
she had caught it. “Henry came by the shop,” he continued, focusing on the pot
of simmering stew on the stove. “He might be coming to dinner next week.”
“That’s nice,”
Belle said awkwardly, taking a few steps further into the room. She paused when
she reached the other side of the kitchen island counter. “Look Rumple … I’m
sorry about this morning.”
Planned and part written before any spoilers came out, so it’s just taken from the first five seasons and doesn’t link up with anything from season 6. This is the second part.
