Note: Wow you guys really liked this one. I’ve done all bar one part of these prompts. @bookwormchocaholic I will add the part about Bae learning about Gold’s date later this week. Sorry for the delay but if I wrote that part, I would then have to write the date and that might well be another couple of thousand words and I’m tired.

Gold was still
in a daze when he locked up the shop and went to collect Bae from soccer
practice. He couldn’t quite believe the events of the past few hours. Belle
French, who was kind, warm, young, beautiful and far too good for the likes of
him, had spent the last couple of hours at his shop. Gold wasn’t entirely sure
where his spark of courage had come from to ask her on a date. There were a
couple of aspects to it.
One part was
that he had been castigating himself for never having noticed Belle before. So
when the opportunity presented itself, he didn’t want to let it pass by,
because he doubted he would get another. Another part was that he had been
expecting a polite rejection, and where was the risk if you already knew the
answer?
Ahh, the Gold men and their playdates. The Gold men are an irresistible force. May I prompt something? Though it might not take place for a little bit: The Gold men take their ladies out on a double date. They could both wear suits. Bring them flowers and candy. Okay, I’ll stop now.
You can certainly prompt it, I love prompts and they are always welcome 🙂 If I can make a prompt work then I will. Anyway, I can understand why your prompt scene would be cute but Bae is only seven, I think he’s a little young to think of Emma as anything other than a friend. Dressing it up like a date would be a bit weird, they are just kids.
I do have an idea which would fulfill the prompt, but probably not the spirit of it. What do you think of a flashforward to when Bae and Emma are 16 or something? Before they can drive (which I know is crazy early in the states, isn’t it like 15 or something with drivers ed?) and so Gold agrees to chauffeur and chaperone I suppose, hence the double date thing. Maybe it’s like a school dance or something which is why they would be in suits?

Yup, I figured a picnic would make the most sense given the time of day, and it sidesteps Gold’s concerns about Belle being seen in public with him for a short time. I suppose that will have to be addressed eventually. Small towns do love their gossip.
Dorks. Something tells me if Mary Margaret knows Belle is dating Gold she’d be okay with Emma going over to his house. 😉
