Falcon, Dr. Strange and Rocket from the MARVEL asks. :D

oooooh thank you so much! šŸ™‚

Falcon: Which fictional character would you like to hang out with?
Which fictional character wouldn’t I like to hang out with? Hehe. No in all seriousness I guess it would be better if I wasn’t completely starstruck. I’m thinking Jemma Simmons (Agents of Shield) to be honest. I mean she’s awesome so I would be a little starstruck but I think we have enough in common to be able to chat and she has access to all the cool holographic tech. Though as I haven’t taken classes at the ā€œshield hogwartsā€ I probably wouldn’t get to have a go šŸ™‚

Doctor Strange: Name a special talent you have.
Ouch this is hard. I don’t really feel like I have any kind of talent to be honest unless it’s on the negative side of the equation. Hmm *wracks brain* I guess I’m quite good at managing money. Is that an ok answer? Urk.

Rocket: What languages do you speak?
*hides in bucket of shame* English – just English. I know a handful of words in other languages like hello, goodbye, thank you, numbers 1-10 etc. but that’s about it. I consider it a crime of my country that we don’t teach languages better. I think it’s very arrogant of Britain to be honest and we get away with it because other countries learn English and are amazing at it.

I would love to learn a language. I did french at high school but I was useless at it for a number of factors, some out of my control, but the biggest issue I personally had was rules. Obviously English doesn’t obey rules either but I somehow learned that naturally (and can I please go back to my toddler self and ask how) and I just got frustrated. I had the singular ability to defy the odds and get 100% wrong on guessing masculine or feminine. My teacher thought I was doing it on purpose and I really wasn’t.

One day ā„¢

Ask me things?

Ooops my queue is a bit unbalanced. I went on a search for some stuff and I’ve tried to mix it up but it’s a bit Once light. Also light on Agents of Shield as I’m trying to avoid spoilers (with mixed success). I’m not jumping ship, I’m just not very organised.

*rolls eyes at self*

Saw Black Panther last night.

#NoSpoilers but it was amazing.

It was a visual treat from a cinematic standpoint. It was funny and sad and jaw dropping in turn. What I appreciated the most though was how it didn’t shy away from what are usually termed ā€˜uncomfortable truths’. I’d actually spent the day researching imperialism and the slave trade for a research paper so it felt particularly poignant.

I was kinda sad though by the ending and I’m going to pretend to myself that everything was remote piloted and things were figuratively set to stun. Like when Clint and Nat did the ā€œare we still friends?ā€ *grin* ā€œdepends how hard you hit meā€ and everyone was ok afterwards – I’m going to pretend it was like that!

Oh and Shuri is the absolute best. I want a tour of her lab and I’m dying to know how the tech works. It was so cool!

Gideon Gold

This is difficult. Is this grown-up GideonĀ ā€˜raised’ by the Black fairy? Gideon raised by Rumple and Belle? I’m guessing not child!Gideon as we pretty much never saw him. As you didn’t specify I’m going to choose and sayĀ ā€œBlack fairy raised Gideonā€ as that’s the one we spent several episodes with.

general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life
hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang
hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff

best quality: scheming. I liked how he planned a few moves in advance, anticipated what people would do and was where they would be – not where they were. To be honest that’s a quality I love in Rumple as well. Just being smart about things. Second best is his loyalty. I love his motivations and how he’s clever about finding ways round his restrictions to protect those he cares about.

worst quality: struggling to think of one off the top of my head actually. I think that’s because we only really saw him during theĀ ā€˜endgame’ so he was at his best. If he hadn’t been de-aged my headcanon says his conscience because I think he would have beaten himself up about things he couldn’t control, and felt guilty when he couldn’t have done different. He was too good and needed to embrace the darkside a little more.

ship them with: and we reach the powder-keg question in this fandom. I don’t particularly ship Gideon with anyone. I never saw that magic chemistry on screen which made me goĀ ā€œI ship it!ā€. However strictly on paper if Gideon hadn’t been deaged then I think Regina would have been a good match. *ducks rotting fruit* I know, I’m sorry. It’s just they both understand darkness, both understand parental expectations.

Regina was never enough for Cora and Gideon would never be the baby his parents lost – never be the son he would have been had they raised him. Regina had to fight for acceptance just like Gideon would after having been in theĀ ā€˜villain’ position opposite the Charming’s. I just think they could understand one another and because of that not have to fear showing weakness – instead they could be each others strength when it was needed.

brotp them with: Emma is an obvious choice. Again this is on paper because we never got a chance to see it on screen but Emma was stripped from her parents just minutes after her birth and returned to them aged 28 – returned to parents who physically aren’t old enough to BE her parents just like Belle couldn’t be the mother of a 28-year-old.

Nobody else could understand that situation. If Belle and Rumple had another child, nobody else could feel the mixed emotions Emma must have felt when Snow and David had baby!Neal. Are they a replacement? Can they ever love me how they love him because of how we met? Will I always be different? Always the outsider?

I’m trying to think. With all the curses it’s hard to remember who is still in Storybrooke but I think Gideon could become good friends with someone who came over with the second/third curse. They wouldn’t have cursed memories, they would know what it’s like to thrown into a whole new world with a different culture. I know the fourth curse (the black fairy’s one) might have given Gideon cursed memories. I don’t know.

Oh and of course Henry who would take his dad’s place of gleefully dragging Gideon to the movies, and teaching him playstation, and lending him comics and setting up netflix and iTunes/Spotify for this worlds music. I imagine the day after Henry showed Gideon YouTube, he goes wide-eyed and bloodshot to the diner the next day, after not having slept all night. The YouTube rabbit hole is real.

needs to stay away from: Zelena. No explanation necessary right? Yeah.

misc. thoughts: I think I’ve rambled on enough to be honest. 99% of this is headcanon as I did Black Fairy Gideon. I just really liked him. He was everything I like in characters really, except maybe a bit too good (embrace the dark side!) but in truth he was a good balance between Belle and Rumple. I mean in season 6 canon he got Rumple and Belle talking again, and I think if he hadn’t been deaged then he would have got them talking more about light and dark until they understood each others viewpoint a bit better.

TLDR: I miss him and I miss the Black Fairy.

WIP Sentence Meme

rumple-belle:

I was tagged by @woodelf68. Thank you, dearie!

Rules: Ā post the last sentence you wrote from your WIP and tag the number of people that there are words.

The knock on the apartment door was loud and sharp, shattering Belle’s quiet contemplation.

(From Hearts Off Balance, chapter 2)

I can’t even think of 14 people to tag right now, but here goes: @mariequitecontrarie, @emospritelet, @goingtothetardis, @perfectlyrose, @rose-tylers, @thatravenclawbitch, @ifishouldvanish, @leaiorganas, @professortennant, @galactic-pirates

Thanks for the tag! šŸ™‚

I have many WIPs but nothing that’s near ready posting (at the moment!) so I’m going to cheat and show a small snapshot of my drawing in progress

I’m at the construction line phase and this is only a fraction of the image. I’m hoping it’ll be cool when it’s done. I’m trying several new things with it so *cross fingers*

@sarashouldbestudying, @little-inkstone, @smartgirlsaremean you are up, if you feel like it šŸ™‚ if not then please ignore and have a nice day!

Rumbelle Camp NaNo – 2 Weeks to Go!

How can you say no to that face? Belle wants you to participate! Hehe šŸ™‚

For anyone that doesn’t know Camp NaNo is different from regular November NaNo in a couple of crucial ways:

  1. You can set your own word count goal (I don’t think there’s a minimum value so set it as high or as low as you like)
  2. They allow you to track time and pages, in addition to words. So you could write a screenplay, edit a story, plan a story, write poetry, whatever you want really.
  3. They have these things called cabins

It is because of these cabins that I am making this post. We currently have getting on for a dozen Rumbelle writers and we can have up to 20 – so still plenty of room! The cabins have like a messageboard thing allowing communication on the NaNo site. I’ve always found it’s easier to write knowing I’m among friends, rather than sitting alone banging my head against the keyboard. I’ve been doing Camp NaNo for years and it always sucks if the cabin is a ghost town so in my cabin:

  1. I post daily facts everyday for inspiration purposes
  2. I post a daily word count challenge
  3. Time zones permitting I run word sprints

Generally I’ve found that so long as somebody’s talking, then the cabin picks up in activity anyway. So got a fanfic you want to finish? Doing Mayday Menagerie? Just wanting a boost in the writing stakes?

Camp NaNo is a lot more relaxed than regular NaNo, as I said above you can work on different kinds of writing, or different parts of the writing process, or even on lots of projects at once. Camp is really about just making progress on things, and getting stuff done in a supportive and friendly environment. So there’s no real barrier to joining in the fun šŸ™‚

If you would like to join then sign up and/or create a project on the Camp NaNo site. Then reply/reblog/message me with your NaNo username and I will send you a cabin invite. You must create your project first or the invite won’t work. Any questions or anything let me know šŸ™‚

My literature essay has killed me (just in case anyone wondered where I was).

BUT I’ve just finished my last class before the Easter break (and handed in the accursed essay) so after sleep and cake …

Sam will return – for the sequel of mini-dissertation, portfolio and podcast panic. BUT far more relevantly I’ll try and reply to my messages again.

I love you guys! *snores*

I’m desperately trying to stay away from tumblr because of the FitzSimmons spoilers I’m getting glimpses of BUT it’s going to be a minimum of 9 weeks until I see the 100th episode. *cries*

In other news I very narrowly named May as my favourite female character in AoS recently with Jemma as a very, very close second. Today I watched the season 5 premiere and an episode of season four and I just love Jemma Simmons so I think I might need to reverse that.

ā€œSure I can invent time travelā€

*lies amazingly to Kasius*

ā€œFitz she’s an androidā€

ā€œYou’ve already put a gun to my head so I’m with you!ā€ – or whatever the words were I just loved how strong she was.

Brilliant, strong, caring, compassionate, insightful, witty … all the adjectives.

Last night I went to comic book club. It’s like one of the few things I try and do that’s vaguely social with other real life people. Anyway it was debate time and they gave points in descending order, so the only person that got zero in a round was the person that came last.

I totally represented England like in Eurovision as I came out withĀ ā€œnil pointā€ aka zero for the whole night. Why?

Well Round One wasĀ ā€œname one person who should definitely die in Infinity Warā€ and I spent the round arguing 1) Leave Tony Stark alone he deserves happiness after all he’s been through!!! 2) Happy endings are not boring, there is enough despair in the world, let all the heroes live and only kill off the bad guys.

You know maybe he could get Pepper a farm or something šŸ™‚ So I pretty much got disqualified for not arguing on topic.

Then I actually thought I would place in the Bonus Round as we had to argueĀ ā€œname one character who has never appeared in the MCU movies who should be in Infinity Warā€ and I said Jemma Simmons.

The movie has enough heroes to punch bad guys, what they need is someone smart who can find the weakness in the bad guy – science saves the day! Plus Jemma is badass in her own right and she has experience of space. She is utterly perfect BUT apparently nobody knows who she is *this is me screaming right now*

Anyway I wear my zero points with pride because I defended the best characters – in my opinion obviously hehe šŸ™‚ – and you know I didn’t disgrace myself in Round 4. I still need brain bleach from that. Sometimes men can be disgusting.
