I’m very much of the opinion that if I don’t have anything nice to say then why spread the misery? It would be better to remain silent. So I’m not going to go on about the many issues in this episode. Hook’s entitled behavior with “Sorry isn’t good enough” was an indicator of how this was going to go and it really didn’t get any better.
Anyway, I’m going to try and pick out anything that was good and there were some things.
You know that gifset of drunk!Gold being arrested by his daughter-in-law Sheriff Emma, and then bonus end of his tether Neal that @zoe19blink made? Well I didn’t want to hijack their gifset by posting this prompt on it but I’ve been thinking about that AU they invented. All credit to them for the premise.
It was quite the puzzle how to make this work with Gold’s character, because Gold isn’t Lachlan, so how would Gold have got to this point? I thought of something and I’ve basically gone and made it mega angsty.
Gold started drinking and partying to hang onto Milah. He wanted her to love him, so he was willing to try to be the man she wanted. She left him anyway but by then he didn’t know how to stop. It had become his life, everyone he associated with was part of that scene and the alcohol helped with the grim reality that nobody, could ever love him.
Neal left home the minute he could and their relationship grew strained, so rather than change Gold clung to the only thing he had left – the partying devil may care life he’d made. When Neal moved back to town with his girlfriend Gold kept intending to change but unfortunately he met brilliant blue eyes and an accent he just couldn’t forget. Night after night he went back because Lacey absolutely captivated him. She was like Cinderella though because she always disappeared and he didn’t know anything about her day life.
He started taking more and more risks to impress her and get close to her. He keeps getting arrested and Neal gets more and more fed up. Then one day he and Lacey are both arrested, and Gold learns that her name is Belle and by day she’s considered sweet and sedate and a complete pushover, the opposite to her behavior as Lacey. He starts to wonder what her story is and I’m thinking it’s not pleasant. So it’s basically about them healing and growing together, and backsliding because change is hard. That kind of thing maybe.
Honestly? No.
I know that Rumbelle the Thing suggested either Belle or Gold (I can’t remember which) was a Senator to more closely follow the dynamic from the movies. However, I always wanted to make both Gold and Belle Jedi. I couldn’t see them as anything else. To be honest that oneshot pretty much wrote itself, all the roles people played just seemed obvious.
Sometimes I can spin alternate versions of my fics. However, maybe I’m too attached to this version I don’t know, but I can’t see it working any other way.

Windows or Mac?: Urk well my PC is windows and I use it everyday but I got an iPhone which I also use everyday and my MacBook is the best laptop I ever had. So again it’s like the book vs movie thing, they fulfill different functions.

Xbox or Playstation?: Playstation 2
Dragon Age or Mass Effect? No clue, oh wait Dragon Age. I have that game, I’ve just barely played it. However, I saw my friend playing Mass Effect once, at least I think it was Mass Effect, is that first person? Anyway, I think it was Mass Effect and I got seriously bad motion sickness watching them.
Night owl or Early riser?: *hysterical laughter* well currently I’m both. I do tend to work better in the mornings but that’s probably just because I’m slightly less tired.
Cards or Chess?: Cards, I’m rubbish at chess
Chocolate or Vanilla?: Chocolate or vanilla what? I’m guessing chocolate, the fake kind anyway as I’m allergic otherwise. Unless it’s not food in which case probably vanilla.
Vans or Converse?: *googles* they look the same in the picture. They are shoes so /shrug I don’t really care.
Fluff or Angst?: Well can you tell it’s fluff if there’s no angst? I think both because unrelenting angst no but angst followed by fluff big yes.
Beach or Forest?: Beach, I love the smell of the ocean, but I am terrified of seagulls so there’s that.
Dogs or Cats?: In reality neither but in abstract dogs.
Clear skies or Rain?: I don’t really care. Rain I guess because so long as the power doesn’t go out then it can be kinda cosy indoors.
Spicy food or Mild food?: Mild, like extremely mild, I have no tolerance for spice at all.
Moon or stars?: Stars because SPACE. I blame my addiction to sci-fi
Whales or dolphins?: Dolphins because I saw some once. Got a bunch of really good pictures, only to realize I’d put the wrong film in the camera. I feel old now, digital is so much better.

Yes! It’s a new month, a fresh start in some respects, so let’s try and make it count. Here’s hoping *crosses fingers* anyway 🙂 I’m rooting for you!
My beverage of choice this morning is coffee. I’m mainlining it like Rush because despite having been up several hours, I still don’t feel awake. *looks at blank document* *looks at clock* not exactly the most audacious of starts but it’s still morning at least. This can be salvaged!

Oh this month is just embarrassing. I didn’t even post this little on my very first status update. It’s sort of been a slow slide downwards for the last few months. Anyway, yeah the WIP’s didn’t happen and I feel terrible about that. I have half a dozen fics pre-written because of various events, so I can guarantee I’ll post more in April at least. I really do promise to do my absolute best on my WIP’s as well. I’m sorry last month was just not a good month.
April is Camp NaNo and hopefully, just like last July, that will give me the boost I need to get back into the writing zone. I really can’t take another month like March. I am so far behind it is crazy scary. I nearly didn’t make this post, because it’s so embarrassing, but I do it every single month and I didn’t think I deserved to skip it. After all it’s kinda like for the record. Anyway, yeah my two paragraph summary is now a lot longer than my list of posted fics /facepalm.

Awww if it helps at all then I’m in the same boat, panicking away because how did it get to be April!?!?! Yeah I’m perfectly happy for you to ignore Mandy. I never shipped her and Rush, they were canon but I’d read too much Rushbelle by that point haha 🙂 As for Gloria I confess sometimes I ignore her as well.
I think you’re just doing a complete AU and not setting this within the Stargate verse right? So you won’t have this problem. If I write a Rushbelle fic which predates Destiny, then especially depending on how far I go back, Gloria then can’t ever have been in the picture otherwise they’d still be married – timeline problems. I guess what you do with Gloria might depend on how you want to characterize Rush.
My headcanon is that pre-Gloria (or pre-her death) Rush was still the same sarcastic bastard that we know and love. However, he was a bit softer, more willing to trust, didn’t have quite so many sharp edges. That’s not to say Rush isn’t always sweet with those he cares about because he is. I guess it would just give Rush a different set of concerns before starting a new relationship.
So whatever you choose is fine by me. I think your plan of ignoring Mandy, and having Gloria unfortunately passed away for several years, is a good one! 🙂
2) One secret the PoV character doesn’t know.
Secret implies deceit and I’m struggling to think of anything that Belle and Gold are purposefully keeping hidden. These two actually talk, unusual for Rumbelle I know, so if they don’t know anything then it’s likely just because it hasn’t come up. Sorry that’s probably a cop-out answer.
5) What will things be like for the characters 10 years after the main events.
I am extremely grateful to get these asks. Seriously, there’s nothing quite like seeing I have a new message. Nobody likes screaming into the void. However, this ask meme /facepalm maybe I should have restricted it to completed fics because I don’t want to spoil the ending. However, I suppose it’s not a spoiler that I promise a happy ending, or as close to one as reality allows.
Belle and Gold will have been married for a few years. Emma and Neal will have had another child, probably a little sister for Henry. Neal will have been working for a few years having graduated. Henry will be in high school. That kind of thing 🙂
9) What a non-PoV character is thinking in a certain scene.
You know I used to head-hop and I miss it sometimes. So I have a terrible habit of when I swap to the next POV, I have that character think about what they were thinking previously. I just scrolled through the story and the first scene that works for this question is when Gold gets called back into work unexpectedly.
Regina is surprised at Gold’s annoyance, having thought he’d have jumped at the chance to return. She’s also scared because the Midas deal started falling through on her watch and she doesn’t want to get blamed for it. Then when Gold insists he’s leaving again her curiosity goes into overdrive. The mention of ‘plans’ is like blood in the water to a shark, she has to know this juicy information of what could entice Nicholas Gold to want to stay away from work.
Not because she wants the information as leverage or anything mean like that, it’s purely for teasing purposes, and also so she can protect him if needed. I mean it must be concerning that one minute Gold doesn’t have anyone, and the next he’s head over heels for his neighbor. Given how much Gold is worth, anyone who didn’t know Belle, might be concerned that Belle only wanted Gold’s money.
No Spoilers? I know, that’s a terrible answer. It’s just I’m pretty certain that I’m going to add to this verse at some point, I already have a prompt, and I don’t want to ruin all suspense. However, I guess I can be vague.
Belle and Gold are going to be married, or basically married even if it’s not registered throughout the galaxy. I can’t decide whether they have children of their own or not but they are definitely going to be parents.
At some point within those 10 years: Regina will discover a part of herself she thought she’d lost forever, Emma will fulfill her destiny in a surprising way, Bae’s going to develop a personal interest in cybernetics.
After 10 years? Well it’s not much of a spoiler to say that the Republic will be back in control of the galaxy, and the Sith Lord is defeated. I don’t particularly want to say where they are/what they are doing because spoilers. However, I will say that Henry has quite a following on the Holonet for his truthful accurate reporting. He could have followed in the footsteps of one of his three parents but he chose his own, weaving words to touch the hearts of billions.

*blink* Okay Now I’m curious as to how/why Henry has three parents in this world. I love that you’ll continue this, can’t wait!

Henry has three parents because Bae + Emma + Regina make three. Yeah I could have just gone for Swanfire but Regina is such an important part of Henry’s life, she is his mom and it seems wrong to erase that if I can make it work within the AU.
Regina helped Emma hide her pregnancy, Bae was like the stay at home dad because as Jedi Emma and Regina couldn’t be there a lot of the time. Whenever Emma went to see Henry, then Regina was at her side. So Regina was very much part of the family and while she could have just been an Aunt, or mommy’s friend, I think Henry probably innocently called her mom once when he was a toddler, not really understanding.
I mean think about it, from Henry’s perspective two women showed up every now and then. They loved him, they took care of him, and so if Emma was his mom, then so was Regina in child logic. I know it’s probably too fluffy for words, but I think that much to Regina’s surprise, Bae and Emma agreed that was accurate. Maybe I’ll have to fic it heh 🙂
Synopsis: The clone wars are in full swing. Darkness is casting a shadow over the galaxy, and only the Jedi’s faith in the force keeps them from despair. It is a dark time for the Republic. This is great! I don’t think I’ve seen a SW/OUAT fusion fic in forever, so I really enjoyed it. To see the Gold family through Belle’s eyes was fun. I especially liked that, as open-minded s she seems to be, it still took her time to even describe Emma as ‘motherly’. lol. Really looking forward to see how this war will go, when the Savior is apparently not following Jedi directive. (also, loved that you made Gaston a traitor. *ggg*) Really loved all of this!
I’m really glad you liked it! I’ve never actually read a SW/Once fusion, so if you have links I wouldn’t mind taking a look. Heh to be fair to Emma, I don’t think Belle’s reticence was because Emma wasn’t motherly, just because Belle had a lot thrown at her inside of an hour and Jedi aren’t supposed to have attachments. So Belle was probably trying to find another explanation.
You know this is just a oneshot at the moment right? I’m open to continuing it but I have no concrete plans. If I did continue it, then the war would go very differently because obviously Emma isn’t the Sith Lord’s new apprentice. Although can you imagine? That would be a new way to do the Dark Swan. Hmm who do you think the Sith Lord is? Any guesses? 🙂
