I know some people don’t like spoilers and I’ve no idea how the people that follow me feel about them. So I’m not going to reblog anything spoiler related. That being said I feel like commenting on something I keep reading so I’m going to just put that under the cut.

Warning, this will contain talk of spoilers for Once Upon a Time season 6.

There’s some filming pictures showing Belle and Hook at the docks and maybe they filmed a scene together. I have seen a lot of comments saying that it’s a dream and there are good reasons for that.

1) They are filming the first couple of episodes so it’s still early in the season. Belle was in another realm, under a sleeping curse at the end of the season five finale.

2) She’s wearing the same dress but not the same coat, she appeared to be wearing in the underworld.

To be honest I don’t really remember the dress because the coat covered everything but I’m very willing to take people’s word on that. I don’t tend to notice stuff with the wardrobe much.

Anyway, my point is maybe Belle is awake and back in Storybrooke in the premiere/episode 2. It is entirely possible because of – Camelot.

Six weeks passed in show time, between the season 4 finale and the present day Storybrooke events of 5A. They decided to show that 6 week time in flashbacks throughout 5A because the Once people are addicted to flashbacks and don’t like to tell the story in a linear fashion.

I know that they said that the action would pick up seconds after the season 5 finale. Maybe it does. The action picked up seconds after the season 4 finale but by the end of the premiere, they had skipped 6 weeks.

This is just a theory and I am probably wrong. To be honest this is why I don’t generally place a lot of stock in spoilers. In my opinion without context, it’s impossible to really understand what is going on. Generally speaking I prefer not to rule anything out.

However, what if the season premiere picks up seconds after the season 5 finale? Some stuff happens, maybe Hyde gets control of all the magic in town (hence why we see people sword fighting) and essentially he owns the place. The heroes try and fight back but if Hyde isn’t killing people then they are just fighting for control. It would be better to cautious, bide their time and then ‘retake the kingdom’, like Snow and David did to King George and Regina.

They could flashforward a year and then that’s where things pick up in episode 2. Belle and Rumple return to Storybrooke. Belle is wearing the same dress because she didn’t exactly pack for a trip, and her steampunk clothing doesn’t fit with Storybrooke. Then they would be able to do all manner of flashbacks throughout the season of what happened in the missing year.

It would sort of help the Jared being so much older than Henry problem. It would help them avoid all manner of messiness of Regina just being ‘over’ Robin so quickly, of Zelena being a bonded part of the group, of Emma and Hook getting married etc. because finally some time would have passed. Right now as it stands everything has happened in such a short time period, there’s not been time for feelings to develop/change etc.

I think that could work. Like I said I’m probably wrong but for now, without any other information, this is my theory. With what little we know, we could develop a ton of different theories. Until september 25th, we’re not going to know for certain how anything will turn out.

I like my coffee like i like my men: hot, creamy, and sweet. 😉

So, I have this lovely DeLonghi one touch cappuccino maker (named George), which is a bit of a misnomer because it’s not quite a one touch operation as I have to pack the grounds myself*, but everything else is pretty much automatic. It makes espressos, cappuccinos, and lattes and if my house was on fire and I could only take one thing out of it (not including my kids and pets of course) THIS WOULD BE IT. That’s because Shawn would be hauling out my giant Lego mosaic of Wonder Woman.

I don’t actually like flavored coffees or frapaccinos or anything. When we don’t use George, we use either a large Chemex or the French press.

Edit: My husband brings me coffee in bed every morning. Be jealous. 🙂

That is one of the funniest scenes *ever*.

This made me think of a Belle vs Lacey faceoff.

Where Belle compliments Gold using a line like the one above, or perhaps we should invent one for tea. I don’t drink tea so I can’t think what to say but yeah saying that she likes her tea/coffee like she like’s her men aka Gold.

Then there was that Lacey post I’ve seen on my dash a few times. I’m actually scrolling through tumblr search trying to find it so I can give proper credit. It basically said “I like my men, like I like my whiskey, only the aged and the scottish” or something.

Also, wow that sounds like a very posh coffee machine. I am a complete heathen and I actually prefer instant. I’m the easiest person in the world to make coffee for, a spoonful of coffee in a mug, add hot water and I’m done.

On a scale of one to “rethink your life choices” how sad is the fact I actually book time off work to write fanfic?

I think that’s cool! Definitely not sad. I mean people book time off for all sorts of reasons. I mean vacation time is “time to pursue hobbies” or “relaxation time”.

Personally I find actual vacations incredibly stressful. Staying at home and writing fic? That sounds like the best use of time off I can think of! Certainly the most enjoyable use of vacation time that I can imagine.

Synopsis: Alternate Season Six. Storybrooke is visibly under threat once more from Hyde and the Evil Queen. However, not all threats are visible as an old forgotten foe has been manipulating events from behind the scenes. The very nature of darkness is revealed as everyone struggles with the most difficult beast of all – acceptance.

Note: Another Tuesday, another chapter. I just checked and there are 10 more Tuesday’s before the premiere. I want this finished before then, so I think I might have to increase the posting schedule. After RCIJ is over, I will try for twice a week, or twice a week on alternate weeks or something. I have other WIP’s I want to write as well 🙂

When Belle
jabbed the needle into her finger, she had expected that the next time she was
consciously aware, would be when her father woke her. She hadn’t done any
research into sleeping curses, there had always been something more pressing,
and she already knew the most important fact. While she was under the curse,
her body was effectively in suspended animation – Hades would not be able to
take her baby.

That was all
she cared about, protecting her child. Finding herself in a room full of
mirrors hadn’t been what she expected. This didn’t feel like a dream, it felt
like she was really here, wherever here was.

Belle swallowed
hard and placed a hand protectively on her stomach. The baby was nothing more
than a collection of cells right now but she loved it fiercely already. The
nearest mirror flashed, and Belle took a wary step back, but it was too late.

YOU DON’T SAY, BELLE. I’m glad that she realised that, and not to sound horrible, I’m glad she’s paying for her rashness and seeing all those painful moments of her past. It would have been different if Hades had actually threatened the baby, but she put herself under the damn sleeping curse simply based on a comment by ZELENA of what EMMA had done to her. Which was because Emma wanted the baby safe so she could kill Zelena. Nothing about that situation applied to Belle. Hades wanted to control Rumpel, not kill Belle. There was no reason for him to want the baby to come more quickly. *Sigh* The way you’ve written what is happening to Belle is perfect;  I bet the show writers won’t even address it.

I’ve no idea what will happen in the real season 6. I know spoilers are starting to filter through now but I have my plan for this story and I’m going to stick to it. I won’t be changing it to bring in anything ‘official’. That’s why I want to get this fic completed before the premiere. It’s going to be wildly AU I’m sure but hopefully still enjoyable.

I’m scrambling a bit today as I only have half of tomorrow’s chapter written. I was finishing up my RCIJ and then I’ve got a cold, which destroyed my weekend. I doubt tomorrow’s chapter will be that popular, it’s quite plot focused. Last weeks chapter was mainly Rumple and Belle and this weeks will pay for it. I don’t think Belle will appear and I think Rumple will only appear in flashback as the dark one. However, the following weeks chapter should have them both again.

I rewatched The Princess Diaries 2 tonight and it made me wonder something. Has anyone ever read a fic where there is an arranged marriage and a suitor but the people who were arranged fall in love instead?

I don’t know it just seemed like turning the trope on it’s head. Go into an arranged marriage for ‘reasons’ and think love is impossible, love supposedly comes along but then find out it was under nose entire time.

Oh and by fic I mean Rumbelle fic obviously. I don’t know what the setup would be or why it would happen but Rumple and Belle are arranged to marry, some guy comes along to sweep Belle off her feet (perhaps Will, maybe Gaston) and instead naturally Belle falls in love with Rumple, her intended.

Arranged marriage is a good idea for once.

It could bring the quote “It was an arranged marriage, I was doing you a favour.” Into a whole new context which is always fun with AU’s.

Please someone write this! I never liked the guy Mia ended up with in Princess Diaries 2. He was a smug jerk who never would have looked at Mia twice if she hadn’t had her makeover in Princess Diaries 1. I loved her “intended.” He was sweet, decent and thoughtful. I’d love it if someone Rumbelled this and Princess Belle ended up with her woobie intended. 

I hated the second movie and I’m pissed that they strayed so far from the book series tbh.

I find the Princess Diaries movies are best enjoyed if I don’t think too deeply about them. Much like all the things I like most it’s the potential I see in it, that sets my imagination afire. The potential/unanswered questions/unexplored avenues/twists etc.

Personally I like the SwanFire twist I thought of this morning better. I might be tempted to write that in some form.

However, if I was to Rumbelle it then Rumple wouldn’t be the dark one, maybe I would do a light one AU. Yeah Sir Rumple, Knight of the realm, hero and ogre slayer etc.

Sticking with the movie plot sort of, Princess Belle must marry and produce an heir in order to inherit the kingdom from her ailing father King Maurice. He arranges the marriage with Sir Rumple and Belle isn’t impressed. She doesn’t want to marry a brute of a knight – she dreams of love.

When Rumple arrives Belle is surprised “you aren’t who I thought you were and I’m glad” as he possesses a keen mind and he isn’t a hulking brute.

To break up the marriage and absorb Avonlea into his domain (and gain control of it’s profitable trading ports) King George dispatches Sir Gaston to Avonlea to romance Princess Belle.

That obviously doesn’t work out. I suppose for there to be any plot Gaston would have to be suitably charming for a short time and maybe Rumple is irritating in some fashion. However, ultimately no contest. Belle falls in love with her betrothed – Sir Rumple, leaving Gaston and King George disappointed and assuring the safety of Avonlea.

Hmm ok I quite like this now. It’s basically a variation of the SwanFire version I thought of this morning.

I sent a stripped down version of this prompt last night to @endangeredslug as they were requesting prompts. I don’t know if they like it or will do anything with it though.

To be honest I don’t have the time to write it anytime soon. If I say I will write something then I am planning on doing so within the next month, or two on the outside. I have too much in the pipeline to get to this before November probably, maybe even later.

I do like this plot scenario, especially the details I came up with today. I might do something with it eventually but yeah it won’t be anytime soon. I got my current WIP to finish and I’ve already picked and started work on my next two WIPs.

I know I need to learn to write faster! 🙂

10 things I love

I’m going to use gifs so I’m going to put most of it under the cut.

1) Writing – I need to write, like I need oxygen to breathe practically. It’s part of my identity, spinning stories and writing them down is what I do, it’s who I am. If I’m not writing, then I feel like I’m wasting time. A ridiculous notion given how much I procrastinate but yeah if I’m not writing I feel like I should be, it’s in my head, it’s constantly at the back of my mind.

2) Music – I love pretty much all music. It is so very rare that I don’t have something playing. I can’t stand the quiet, I find it really distracting as I get hyper alert to any random noise. My iPod goes with me everywhere. Plugging in and having the consistent sounds of a song, rather than the sound of people all around me, is the only thing that stops a panic attack sometimes.

3) Stargate – This gets an entry on it’s own because I love it that much. I never get tired of it. No matter my mood, no matter how I feel, I can always put Stargate on, relax and it cheers me up even if only for the 40 minutes it’s on screen. The three shows weren’t perfect but they did a lot right and the expansive extended universe of potential, gives me a lot to think about when I can’t sleep at night.

4) Once Upon a Time – Another entry on it’s own. Now this show decidedly isn’t perfect but even if the plot quite often leads something to be desired, the characters and the world have so much potential, that it just sets my imagination on fire. To be honest I think that is what I look for most in anything I watch/read – potential. Plus this is the only show where I’m active in fandom, Rumbelle is why I joined tumblr and Once Upon a Time is what I fill my dash with.

5) Other TV/Movies – There’s a lot of stuff I like. I have a rather big DVD collection and I rewatch a lot. I could write a big long list but I probably shouldn’t. So my top ones that I keep coming back to would be Marvel Movies, Fools Gold, Princess Diaries, Hustle, Flashpoint, CSI, NCIS etc.

6) Cute puppy pictures – I don’t like dogs in reality, mostly because I have a problem with unpredictability and all animals are inherently unpredictable. I’m really nervous around dogs, I know that they aren’t going to hurt me but yeah, well I’m nervous around anything alive really. However, I love dogs in abstract – they are so sweet!

7) Technology – I do like new shiny gadgets. I never get them because it’s illogical, always better to wait until they have been out a while and the bugs have been worked out. Usually don’t get them after that because, no need, only get stuff if it would be of use. However, that doesn’t stop me from drooling over the shiny’s and reading through their specs on the internet, or looking at them in the store.

8) The Ocean – I absolutely love the sea, the crashing of the waves, the smell of the ocean breeze. I am terrified of seagulls so going to the seaside is always tricky. However, I do love the sea. If I was a gazillionaire I would live on a boat probably.

9) Swimming – I do my best thinking around water. Get ideas in the shower, or preferably while doing laps in the pool. I’m not that fast, but I used to go 3x a week and do 40 laps or something. I haven’t been able to swim in a year now because of an injury and I miss it so much.

10) Blankets – I hate the summer so much because I can’t do anything about being too hot, winter is awesome, most of the bugs are dead, nobody bugs me about going outside and I can huddle under blankets. I love blankets, they are so comforting and snuggly.

It was late when I wrote this last night. The essence of the prompt is “surprisingly arranged marriage turns to love” as opposed to “person in arranged marriage has a love affair with someone else.”

However, if we’re getting into specifics I think it might work even better with SwanFire.

King David and Queen Snow arrange a marriage for their daughter Princess Emma, to Lord Baelfire, adopted son of Princess Belle of Avonlea, courtesy of her consort Rumplestiltkins previous marriage. The marriage between Princess Belle and a spinner (a commoner) caused quite the scandal but a kiss of true love blessed the union.

Emma dreams of love and adventure, like her parents courtship but the future of the kingdom needs to be secured. Dowager Queen Cora, Snow’s stepmother is a sinister presence in the background. She contracts a young pirate Killian Jones aka Captain Hook, to romance Princess Emma, to breakup the arranged marriage and cause a scandal. The scandal would pave the way for Cora’s daughter Regina to one day take the crown.

However, the plot doesn’t go Cora’s way because Princess Emma does fall in love – with Baelfire and not Hook. There is a last minute attempt to force a scandal, thwarted by Regina, who reveals what her mother did and says she doesn’t want to be Queen, that her best friend Princess Emma should have the crown. Instead Regina finds love and happiness with Daniel/Robin (I love my happy endings) and yeah that’s it.

By that I mean I’m done but I’m terrified my person won’t like it/they’ll be disappointed. I did my best but this is my first gift exchange and it’s a scary business. I can’t wait till posting date because then the uncertainty will be over.
