Tuesday’s chapter of The War Within is done! Nobody is going to mind that it’s almost entirely Rumple and Belle, right? It’s also about 1k longer than normal, I kinda got carried away.

My brain is stupid though. I told myself this morning I needed to finish next weeks chapter. I finished early and still had some time left, so I thought to myself “why don’t I do some more?” and my brain said “I don’t want to” and basically decided it was break time.

So not helpful.

There’s a funny post on my dash right now. There’s a screencapped tweet – “Actually, Hook & Rumple are the reason for the show. Their feud set the whole plot in motion.” – and then a photo manip of Hook over the Evil Queen and Rumple over Snow, – I will destroy your happiness if it’s the last thing I do.

I didn’t want to hijack that post but I did want to respond to it. My first response, after laughing, was to think that actually the event that set the whole plot in motion, wasn’t Regina vs Snow.

That set a lot of things in motion but the Dark Curse, was the main plot point for season one (what led up to it, and then present day breaking of it). It wasn’t what season one was about, I would say that it was more about family, the relationship between Emma and Henry etc. but I’m getting off point.

The dark curse would never have happened if not for Rumple’s quest to reunite with Baelfire. Rumple manipulated everything, including tampering with Regina and Snow’s feud, to ensure everything led to the casting of the curse so he could get to the land without magic.

I would argue that what set the whole plot in motion was Rumple and Bae, a father’s search for his son.

Exactly–the entire basis of the show is rumple and Bae, and Rumple’s quest to save him–which led to both Regina’s birth and her ability to cast the curse, setting the Storybrooke part in motion.

Killy was a plot device at best–the thing that caused Bae to permanently lose his mother. But we saw from Devil’s Due that even when Milah was around, Rumle would go to almost anyy length to save Bae–and that she couldn’t be bothered. If Rumple and Milah had still been married at the time of Desperate Souls/the Return, events would probably have played out in almost exactly the same way–because Milah certainly wouldn’t have been concerned with saving Rumple’s soul.

Exactly. I just responded in that other post the same thing. The seed of the show is Rumple’s love for his son, his desire to protect him at all cost and becoming the DO. The Dark One curse is the origin, then came Regina’s curse that brought them to Storybrooke. It all goes back to who the real core characters are: Rumple, Bae, Snow, Charming, Emma, Regina, and Henry. The Swan-Mills-Stiltskins. It’s this family what the show is about as a whole. You cannot take any of these out without having the story destroyed. Actually, the Blue Fairy is also a key element, one we don’t talk about enough. IF she hadn’t given Baelfire that bean, there wouldn’t have been Storybrooke. It was also her who gave Rumple the idea of a “terrible curse” to come to this world. #MakeBluetheSuperVillian2k17

If Blue isn’t secretly the mastermind and prime villain of this series, then Kitsowitz don’t know how to tell stories at all…

Oh. Wait.

The Blue Fairy is protected under the hero code. That doesn’t make her a hero, like any of the so-called heroes, but she will never get what she deserves because of it.

I honestly sometimes wonder whether they watch their own show. Watching the Blue Fairy manipulate a child, without concern for the consequences, to take out the dark one was horrific. Then there’s her hypocrisy towards her own kind. How she treated Nova and Tinkerbell was nasty. Do they not realize how the Blue Fairy comes across?

It’s like they say with words that she is a good person, but then her actions say otherwise and it’s actions that count. There is this schism on the show between what they say someone is, and what they are based on what they do. It’s so obvious sometimes I swear it must be intentional but then they never seem to pick up on it.

If anyone ever doubts how important Baelfire/Neal is, or that he still has fans well … on my blog the most notes I ever had was 18. My post about how important Neal was, got over 100 within 24 hours. Now I know that’s only a microcosm but I was fairly impressed.

I love Neal and I’m glad a lot of other people still do 🙂 I only wish he could be brought back.

Why is tumblr so dead lately?

I feel like I’m the only one here right now. Hello? Anyone hear me? It’s been like this for days.

Hi Raven!!!

I haven’t noticed, but then I purposely keep my dash relatively clean. Maybe people are on holiday? It could also be that the Rumbelle fandom has severely diminished…….or that many want to avoid spoilers?

Hi Raven. I guess people are busy or away.

It has been strangely quiet lately…

It takes me at least half an hour to scroll through my dash in the morning and catch up on what happened when I was sleeping. If this is dead then I’m going to have give up doing that when it revives.

I’m here and I’ve been posting consistently but I’ve only been on tumblr two months. Plus I only post when I’m awake which is probably when America is asleep or at work. I did try and set up a queue but it won’t let me adjust the times to when I am sleeping. So yeah I’m not helpful at all 🙂

#if this is tumblr dead I’m slightly scared

Oh dear, I was just .. procrastinating (ok I admit it) and I opened up He’s Behind You and ooops.

There’s this section:

Regina had never got the full story of what had happened in the land of untold stories. Several months after Henry’s ill-advised attempt to destroy magic Rumplestiltskin and Belle had returned to Storybrooke.

They hadn’t been forthcoming about how Belle had been woken from her sleeping curse, or how their reconciliation had occurred. Regina begrudgingly had to accept that they were entitled to their privacy. It didn’t matter, by far the biggest question on everyone’s lips had been what on Earth had happened to Rumplestiltskin’s hair. That was another story that had gone untold, and thankfully for the towns collective sanity, it had soon grown back and he looked the same as he always had.

and I said that He’s Behind You happened in the same verse as The War Within, about five years after the end of that. Only, I wrote this oneshot before I planned The War Within and I’ve just realized what I wrote here does not match what I have planned for the fic.

It’s just a small reference and I could go back and change it. That would probably make more sense than leaving it. Although it is funny. When I wrote this I didn’t want to have to think about how the events were resolved but clearly I thought it would be amusing to write in the haircut.

Ok I will fix this later. See procrastination has benefits. I can discover I’ve been an idiot and fix it before anyone else notices.

I just noticed tumblr ate the post I made this morning. The app crashed and I thought it had posted but it hadn’t. That will teach me to write a post in the app because now it’s gone.

It was a random writing post update thing, nothing probably very interesting. I said I had plans to write a good chunk of my RCIJ yesterday and then unexpectedly had to work so that kinda sucked. I still haven’t made anymore progress on it. I opened it up earlier, stared at it for five minutes and then shut it again. Does anyone else do that?

Oh yeah the funny thing. I woke up last night, middle of the night and I had words in my head! Now this happens quite a lot. I’m never further than arms reach from something to write with. So I wrote the words down and I still haven’t looked at them. In the middle of the night they seemed quite good, in the cold light of day probably not so much.

What words came unbidden to my mind in the middle of the night? It was that Rush/Carter fic. It was the transition between the fighting and the smut, so it contained neither fighting, nor smut, just how they got between the two. I also had thought of a beginning and get this – two endings. That’s always interesting.

Anyway, I am now currently writing the next chapter of The War Within because I might have got a bit behind on that and eaten through my buffer. Usually I would have next weeks chapter done by now but oh well, I have the weekend.

Rumple is about to have a very thought-provoking conversation with a citizen of the land of untold stories …

joshdallascutie:

Au where Emma and Neal are partners in crime and a couple. Emma’s the scary cop and Neal is the sarcastic one who brings out Emma’s soft side.

“Partners in crime” and “scary cop” sound mutually exclusive.

Unless of course, actually thinking about it now, I think I have heard that phrase used for Castle and Beckett, who work together to solve crimes, so don’t mind me.

I love this though! I’m reblogging it for ease of reference later because I’m going to use this in my Nightwalkers fic. I was wondering how best to bring in Swanfire and now I have it. I love Neal 🙂

Sudden Ouat question

sarashouldbestudying:

So, it’s pretty obvious that whenever there’s a problem everybody rushes to Gold demanding help and whining when it’s time to pay the price.

My question is: why don’t they just go to the Blue Fairy? She has light magic and doesn’t ask for prices, why don’t they go to her?

I know that the actual reason is “Rumplestiltskin is a main character and is portrayed by Robert Carlyle, the Blue Fairy is not”, but I’d like to find a reason that makes sense in the story.

Is it because they know that Blue is actually useless? Or because they don’t want her to point out that what they need done is not good, so they just go to Rumple so that they can blame him for it? Is it because even the heroes realize that she’s shady af???

Please, help me find an answer!

They went to her sometimes. Like she was the one that got the tree for the wardrobe for Emma to evacuate through. However, mostly I think they don’t go to her because she doesn’t/can’t help.

Say what you will about Rumple but even the heroes acknowledge that he knows how to take care of business, and get stuff done. It’s a bit like.
– Blue’s the one that they would turn when they wanted everything nice and clean, and it didn’t necessarily have to succeed.
– Rumple’s the guy to send in when they want the problem solved, no mistakes, just dealt with.

Like I can just imagine Blue looking all sad, and saying that fairy magic has it’s limits, and that she can only do so much. Hear that enough times and what’s the point in the side trip to the fairy? Let’s just skip to the end and call in the guy that we know can take care of it.

To be honest my headcanon is that the heroes don’t even realize they are doing it. Especially these days in Storybrooke because they are out of the habit of turning to the fairies. They hide away in the convent and are never there when the shit hits the fan. I think actually didn’t they say that they needed fairy dust to do magic?

I remember in 2×01 Broken, the Blue fairy saying “it was complicated” now. So maybe they can’t actually do much because either there is no more fairy dust left in the mines, or nobody is bothering to mine it anymore. If they are just like regular people, no power these days, then that would make sense too.

“Because I swear that I’ve seen this episode before.” ooh it seems proximity to richard has taken its hold

Or it might be that I adore Blaine from iZombie.  Whale may be taking on a few of his traits here and there…but it’s not like they’re that terribly different.  Excepting the fact that Whale has a moral code and all.

And yeah, the Galavant peeps might just be helping one of our old friends break the fourth wall a bit.  Just a little. 😉

It could just be David Anders. I wish we had more Whale on the show. He was quite genre savvy and very awesome as Julian Sark on Alias. That’s the first role I saw him in and I loved Sark. I think Alias was one of the first shows where I liked the villains more than the so-called heroes. I really could not stand Sydney.
