This episode was awesome. I love the glimpse it gave us of what the shows future could be because it opened up a whole new realm of possibilities. I have so many questions about Novos, and the Tanarians and the Futurans. I wish we had seen more of them. The homeworld might be gone but clearly there were several well-developed colonies, how many more were out there?
Also what about those ships with no FTL that they were stuck onboard for a couple of hundred years. Had they developed artificial environments to grow their own food and recycle water? Honestly the Novos technology and culture is such a big question mark. Also I have all the questions about the drones, and who built them and why. I found this story arc so fascinating and its forever going to remain a mystery.
My conscience won’t let me leave The Beauty and the Tragedy like it is. I do like the ending because it works well. From a writer perspective it’s good, but it is everything I hate as a reader.
I’ve been feeling guilty since I posted it. I don’t like being the evil writer.
Oh and for the record my official Revelry fic – The Tomb already has a happy ending. I’m going to put that on the tags I think. Anyway, if I fix the fic then I’ll keep my streak of being “happy endings guaranteed” which is nice. I don’t like being evil heh.
Synopsis: When Mr. Gold calls in Lord French’s marker, bankrupting his estate, it leaves Lady Belle with nowhere to go until Mr. Gold offers her a deal. She enters his service as a maid and true love blossoms between them. Belle dreams of forever but there is a room, which is permanently locked, that stands in the way.

Usually I am all about the happy ending.
I mean if it’s a fic by me, then it’s a happy ending because I can’t not fix things. However, this just ended so perfectly in a very angsty fashion that I left it sad. I’m feeling quite guilty, and like I should go and write some fluff to make up for it now. Anyway, final word count is getting on for 6k. My prompt words were ‘Séance’, ‘Bump in the Night’ and ‘Not of this world’ and I used the last two.

Belle French
shivered as the ice cold wind whipped through the trees, sending the blanket of
leaves on the ground before her skittering in all directions. The mausoleum
mansion of a house loomed ahead, dark and foreboding against the grey sky. The
track to the house was lined with barren trees, their leaves fallen to the
ground leaving them like unprotected skeletons. Belle shivered again, and
reluctantly started to walk towards the house. Everything she owned, was
contained in the small case she was clutching with her right hand. It felt like
she was walking to her doom but she had no choice in this, and she was not one
to run from her fate.
“Do the brave
thing and bravery will follow,” Belle muttered to herself.
Still a great story, from what I could read through my tears. ;’)
Heh it wasn’t sad until the end … when it was very sad. Like I said I feel like I should go and write fluff now to make up for it. I actually do have one more fic on my list for this month, that I didn’t quite manage to finish which would be excessively fluffy. It’s Rushbelle though, so I don’t know if that counts. Anyway, I’m glad you liked it, even if the ending hurt 🙂

Well, that was sad… but it was also so true to Rumple’s character as well. He of course would do anything he could to find a way to fix something bad that happened to someone he loved!
I loved that you were able to work multiple smut scenes into such a tragic tale and it also added an element of discombobulation that worked well for the story. It really made me wonder just how many times Rumple has had to plot and plan and do everything all over again only to watch Belle die.
I also really enjoyed how both Belle and Rumple decided that they would never give up fighting for the one they loved… no matter how painful it was in the end. This is a good lesson for us Rumbellers right now… to never stop fighting for them!

Heh well you wanted smut so I tried to oblige. Yup I do love that Rumbelle quote, well there’s two of them that are basically the same – “I’ll never stop fighting for him.” and “when you find something worth fighting for, you never give up.” because true love is worth the effort.

Well. I didn’t really need my heart anyway. And at least I know that any version of Gold will eventually find a way to get his lost loved one back? (not that it worked that well for him in canon anyway, but let’s set that aside).
Writing-wise this was soooo good. I liked that feeling that something was off, and poor Belle dying twice in the middle of the story was definitely a surprise worthy of a Hallow’s Eve fic event. 😉

I didn’t really show her dying, not really, that would have been too evil, it was just sort of implied until the end when stuff was explained. At least … yeah I was kinda evil wasn’t I? /hides

I have done no exercise all week, nothing since Wednesday before last because I had a bad cold and now my asthma is going crazy. I have this barking cough. I might go swimming tomorrow if I can, but I don’t think I’ll be running for a while, not until I can breathe properly again.
Synopsis: It’s a normal quiet night in for Nicholas Rush and his girlfriend Belle French. On the agenda is pizza, cheap wine and a rented movie. However, once they start watching the movie, they realize the video store made a mistake and gave Belle an ‘adult’ version of the movie she wanted, letting them see a whole new side to Beauty and the Beast.
Watching Porn Together. It’s my first posted Rushbelle fic, though there will be others 🙂 This also uses the spirit of a prompt I liked, that didn’t get picked, for the Great Rumbelle Blow-Off, as that had Belle accidentally obtaining the porn parody of a movie. I had real trouble thinking of a title, and so I went for a really bad play on words. You’ve heard of a tale as old as time? Well this is a story as old as video. This will eventually be part of my Ripple Effect verse, whenever I get round to writing the main fic that is 🙂 Enjoy!
Nicholas Rush
flicked his eyes to the clock and he snorted, shaking his head lightly. His
girlfriend Belle had told him she would be at his apartment for 7pm, but it was
7.15pm and she still hadn’t arrived, meaning he had won the bet. He had told
her that there was no way she would be able to finish class, get to blockbuster
to rent their video, and then over to his apartment in the time she had
allotted.
He felt his
lips curve into a soft smile and he snorted once again, this time at how sappy
he had become. However, he couldn’t help it, he was a man in love. He had met
Belle a few months ago, she was working on an undergraduate degree in foreign
languages, via an ROTC scholarship. He was pursuing his masters degree in
advanced mathematics. Due to the stipulations of her scholarship, she’d had to
do twenty-fours of study of math and physical sciences. They had met one day
when he had been covering her math lecturers office hours.
The attraction
had been immediate. He had answered her questions and asked if she’d like to
get coffee, and as they say, the rest was history. Suddenly the silence was
broken by the doorbell. Rush frowned and hurried to answer it, wondering why
Belle hadn’t used her key. The moment he opened the door, that mystery was
solved, as her hands were full with two pizza boxes. He stepped back and Belle
pushed past him, depositing the pizza on his tiny kitchen counter with a
relieved sigh.
Yeah I had a blast writing it 🙂 I don’t know what the proper term is, for when you aren’t exactly breaking the fourth wall but well this ^^. I’m glad you enjoyed it! Thanks 🙂

I prefer braille if I can get it. There’s something about the feel of paper beneath my fingers, and the reassuring weight of the book. However, audio is more widely available, especially with digital books because even if an audio version isn’t available, there are programs that can read the text.
Thus begins the debate of – “am I brave enough to say yes to anyelle?”
Honestly it feels like playing Russian roulette. Several of the more popular options I would be absolutely fine with e.g. Rush, Lachlan, Ives, Father MacAvoy, Plunkett etc. There are a ton that I know nothing about but the synopsis seems reasonable (I’m going through the IMDB page). I wouldn’t be thrilled with either Barney or Danny Devine but I think I could make it work. Basically there’s just a couple of options like Nosty or Begbie, which scare me because I don’t think I could do it.
I chickened out of saying yes to anyelle with RCIJ. Now, I know that the odds are that even if I say yes, I won’t get an anyelle prompt, but if I say yes then there is the possibility. Am I brave enough to face the possibility? I don’t know /flails. Honestly, signing up is anxiety inducing enough and I’m going to say yes to smut this time (I was too much of a coward to say yes to that for RCIJ) so I’m being a little braver.
Seriously am I the only one that panics about this? Probably. But at least I’ve already decided on my prompt. Now I just need to decide whether to be brave or not, I’m leaning towards not because I am a big coward.
Suddenly realized because this was so brief I wrote it on tumblr, rather than here first, and then I forgot to crosspost. I’ve not been well and I didn’t even take my usual notes when watching. Although it doesn’t matter so much because for my favorites it was a filler episode.
