Ahhhhhh

Ahhhhhhh

Ahhhhhhhh

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m screaming in case you couldn’t tell. Just saw the new Ant-Man and the Wasp promo poster and trailer, thought to myself the villain looks familiar

AND AND

It’s Dutch!

Alright Hannah John-Karmen but eeeeek she is so amazing in Killjoys and now she’s going to be on the big screen and I’m feeling very hyped for it. Somebody remind me rooting for the bad guys is wrong…

Just saw Infinity War.

I have feelings! I have thoughts!

I’m also very tired. I didn’t notice as I was spellbound but that movie is hella long. Went for the 7pm showing and just got home at 11!

So consider this the non-spoiler review. Basically I was leaning forward the entire movie, eyes wide, jaw-dropped going “ahhhhhhhhh what’s happening? What’s going to happen? Ahhhhhh” – in my head obviously as I have learned from the first Avengers movie not to voice out loud.

It’s a must-see. There were a couple of head scratchers and a couple of disappointments but considering how ambitious it was – massive cast – I think it was done superbly well. They pulled the rabbit out of the hat so to speak.

The spoiler review will be tomorrow 🙂

Saw Black Panther last night.

#NoSpoilers but it was amazing.

It was a visual treat from a cinematic standpoint. It was funny and sad and jaw dropping in turn. What I appreciated the most though was how it didn’t shy away from what are usually termed ‘uncomfortable truths’. I’d actually spent the day researching imperialism and the slave trade for a research paper so it felt particularly poignant.

I was kinda sad though by the ending and I’m going to pretend to myself that everything was remote piloted and things were figuratively set to stun. Like when Clint and Nat did the “are we still friends?” *grin* “depends how hard you hit me” and everyone was ok afterwards – I’m going to pretend it was like that!

Oh and Shuri is the absolute best. I want a tour of her lab and I’m dying to know how the tech works. It was so cool!

Rewatching Thor: Ragnarok as the DVD came out today. It’s a great movie but all the death makes me sad. I did start writing a canon-compliant oneshot explaining where Lady Sif was during events. Watching it again now part of me wishes to save all the poor Asgard soldiers and especially the Warriors Three.

I don’t know how though without wrecking the plot. Really the question that needs to be asked is how come everyone forgot Asgard’s history as they live so long? I mean it was obviously all within Odin’s lifetime. Is there a difference between royalty and regular Asgard? I’m thinking not considering Valkyrie went against Hela but then again time could be different on Sokar explaining how she’s still alive.

Alternately I’m wondering if Frigga did some magic to help people forget. She presumably must have known unless Odin had a previous wife as well. I need to know these things.

There is one thing I really want from Infinity War more than anything else.

Tony Stark and Doctor Strange (and others) are in a discussion.

Someone: “No shit, Sherlock”

Tony and Strange side-eye one another.

#i think i’ve said this before#and i’m sure a hundred other people too#yes i’m procrastinating how did you guess?

Oh and as I’m being random today (aka procrastinating because being self-destructive is how I roll) – Thor: Ragnarok.

Spoilers, spoilers, don’t read if haven’t seen.

Question! If Thor gets his power from Asgard like Hela, now that Asgard is gone does that mean he’s no longer the god of thunder? Does that mean no more lightning powers? Inquiring minds want to know.

Got Guardians of the Galaxy on DVD. I saw it at the cinema but I love the marvel films and wanted to watch it again. That opening with baby!Groot dancing is still the best/funniest thing ever. In fact everything to do with baby!Groot was the best part of the movie. It’s amazing how expressive that little tree is and how cute! Seriously just makes me smile.

So yay happy things! Then boo what gave this movie the right to give me so many feels???? I’d seen it before but it hurt just as much as last time! *sniff* I was struggling not to cry! Honestly couldn’t they have ended the movie with Groot being super cute? I know he had that really cute moment going to sleep on Drax’s shoulder but I was way too sad for that to be enough.

Yeah so no point to this except the Marvel “comedy” movie nearly made me cry and I felt like sharing the pain.

It made me laugh a lot and then nearly made me cry. I think the other way round would have been better, I like to end things happy. I know it was kinda bittersweet with all the fireworks and everything but honestly the funeral scene was just too much. I don’t think that’s suitable for children, it wasn’t suitable for me, I didn’t want to see that, it makes it too real and makes me too sad. I’m going to go live in denial verse now where Quill still had his space helmet ear thing or Rocket had another bubble suit.

wizzygold replied to your post “Got Guardians of the Galaxy on DVD. I saw it at the cinema but I love…”

Ugh the ending destroyed me :’( (also, baby!starlord is also baby!rumple! )

Oh wow! I hadn’t noticed that until you said it but yes you are so right. I suppose *counts on fingers* that was early season three and they are filming season seven now so 4-ish years BUT this GotG movie would have been filmed about 2 years ago? So the kid sure managed to look a lot older in just a couple of years. Although I guess kids that age do kinda change rapidly overnight, or just kids in general with Jared as Henry being a case in point.

Sorry I don’t know why I just thought all that out loud. I’m having baby!Rumple feels now as well. After all to his knowledge his mother was dead, and his father abandoned him, and he was left with two spinsters who taught him a trade and did their best with him. Much like Yondu did with Quill.

I’m making myself even sadder now. Dammit self!

Spiderman: Homecoming

Saw this Wednesday night and dsjfgsdfjsdlkfjkldsfjklsd

I somehow managed to avoid spoilers and that meant that the surprises were 100% a surprise which led to me punching the air in the movie theater and just generally it made it a better experience!! Yes that was a very long sentence but asdjalskdjalskdjals I mean it was a keyboard smash kinda movie!

So spoilers spoilers, avoid if you haven’t seen it, do not click ok?

If anyone’s seen Leverage in season four I think there are two episodes – The Boys Night Out/The Girls Night Out. In which as you might guess the first focuses on the male characters, the second on the female characters. Events happen on the same night and there’s a tiny bit of crossover when one character calls another, but apart from that they are separate adventures.

I was just randomly thinking what if they did that with the marvel movies? Like packed off all the male heroes to Asgard or somewhere else out of the way, maybe Tony and Pepper are getting married and it’s a stag/hen night situation (I know that sucks but the setup isn’t what matters).

So we have all the cool amazing ladies on Earth (or maybe they go somewhere but setting is immaterial) – basically it’s a team-up thing. All the ladies are together. I’m talking Pepper, Lady Sif, Maria Hill, Natasha Romanoff, Wanda Maximoff, Jane Foster, Hope van Dyne, characters from Black Panther that I don’t know the names of yet, Darcy Lewis, hey could even invite Gamora. Basically any significant female characters from the movies (this is me hoping I haven’t forgotten anyone important).

Then something happens – duh duh duh – and the ladies have to save the world. Pepper could don the Rescue armor, Hope is obviously the Wasp. Jane and Darcy could help run back-end/science saves the day and everyone else is badass in a fight. Actually Darcy is badass in a fight, give that girl a taser. Anyway, what I’m saying is all-female team-up.

Yes this is just because I want more of all these amazing women. You’ve seen my tags, I’m constantly lamenting that I want more Maria Hill, Lady Sif etc. Well Marvel make it happen! I can’t be the only one that would watch the hell out of this. I mean I just rewatched The Avengers, Cap: Winter Soldier and Avengers: Age of Ultron purely for Maria Hill. Give me more Marvel!

I know this will never happen but it’s a fun dream 🙂

I saw a Captain America: Civil War gifset the other day and this fact suddenly struck me – Tony got shot in the head. Bucky shot him, that is how he got his black eye. He survived because of the glasses, but what if that shot had been an inch higher or lower?

Tony has said himself he is “just a guy in a can.” He doesn’t have any superpowers, and he threw himself into the fight with nothing more than a set of glasses, and a wrist/hand pulse thing. He got shot in the head and went straight from that, to being yelled at for not stopping Barnes. He had to beg to get the two days to bring them in – “next time I won’t be wearing loafers and a silk shirt.” meaning next time ‘I won’t be so vulnerable.’

I searched tumblr and google for ages to see if anyone else had picked up on this moment. I didn’t find anything which is making me paranoid that I misinterpreted it. However, this is my thought of the day about how strong Tony actually is. Just like Natasha and Barton in a way, he’s a regular guy when he’s not got his suit.

“Take that away and what are you?” – he’s a hero, an avenger, he is more than the suit.
