Week Two check in!

How’s everyone doing? Any achievements unlocked? 😉

I’ve been tracking calories in and out via fitbit and myfitnesspal and ended most days at a deficit, so far. Haven’t always hit my 10k steps but I’ve exercised every day except one since last Tuesday.

I think I’d like to incorporate weights more but I feel like I’m still warming up. Really putting focus on cardio and stamina, right now. There are two weight classes at my gym, though. I’m gonna aim to attend both every week!

On my last status post I said I was about to start week 2 on my ‘Couch to 5k’ app and I have now successfully done week 2 three times. That is what it says to do before moving onto week 3. However, I’m not sure that I’m ready to move on.

I mean, isn’t it supposed to feel a bit easier first? Week 3 is quite a jump. I might attempt it when I go next time (tomorrow) and see how far I’ll get, I suppose that’s better than not attempting it at all.

So week three coming up next 🙂

I was doing the c25k app before I sprained my ankle and it seems like a giant leap, but it’s weirdly easy after completing week 2. I would read the description of the next day and it would kind of psych me out, but when I did it, I was surprised at how much easier it was than I was thinking.

I tried week three this morning. I knocked my speed down a little. I usually have the treadmill set to 5 for the running part (2.5 for the walking part), which I know is kinda slow but my heartrate is usually 190-200 at that speed so I must be working quite hard. Anyway, I set it to 4.7 for the running instead.

Now week 3 is 2x (1.5 min run, 1.5 min walk and 3 min run, 3 min walk). I did the 1.5 no problem, it was the 3 minutes I was worried about but – I did it the first time round! 🙂

However, the person next to me kinda shouted because I was kinda violently red/purple, and my lips were going white/grey/blue, which apparently is scary looking. I confess I didn’t feel that great but I kept going and did the next 1.5 but then I couldn’t manage 3 minutes again. Instead I did 2x 1.5 instead. Anyway, I’ll try again next time and see what happens.

Running is hard.

Goodness! That does sound terrifying. Definitely listen to your body, but good for you for not getting discouraged. One of the things I really like about the program is it says jog/run so you don’t need to be running as fast as possible, you just need to up the intensity a bit to get the benefits. Don’t focus on how fast your running. Just the fact that you are doing it means you are kicking butt!

Thanks and thanks Sprite 🙂 Yeah get the distance and then the speed, I do know that. It’s just unless I’m going a certain speed, then there’s no rhythm to the jogging but it’s too fast for me to walk. If I’m just walking then it doesn’t feel enough. Plus I confess I have only have two speeds – stop and go. My impatience is legendary and I’m like this with everything, it’s not just exercise.

Where’s that Rumbelle pic of Belle saying “Meet my new friend moderation” and Rumple saying “Your friend and I already don’t get along.” – because it’s kinda like that 🙂 My problem is I just want the results now. I’ve been unable to do anything for about 18 months due to medical issues and it’s only the last 6 weeks I’ve started exercising again. Going from nothing to this, was maybe a little too much.

Anyway, I have promised to take it slower, a resolve that probably won’t last knowing me but I will try. Sorry for scaring everybody.

Hiatus Flashback:  Dopey 5.02 The Price

The last we will ever see of this character, who was tragically treed and then forgotten about on the outskirts of town. He was later chopped down for public safety reasons. Regina is militant about infrastructure and trees sprouting in the middle of the road is a big no-no.

Actually I figured that the Maine transportation people cut him down.  Since he’s on the other side of the town line someone driving down a rural road ran straight into a tree in the middle of the road.

Good point. And he has to be gone at this point. Since then Belle has driven in and out of town. Rumple has driven out of town. Emma and Regina have driven out of town. Henry and Violet have left town. And Emma, Regina, Henry, Violet, Snow, Charming, Hook and Zelena have all driven back in to town. No mention of the giant tree blocking the road.

Actually the tree was only on one side the road, so they could have driven on the other side.

Plus the third dark curse is still in effect. Belle could drive out because she had the pouch of magic dust. Everyone else could drive out because Storybrooke didn’t have magic at the time. However, now magic has been restored, until the curse is broken, no-one can cross the line again, otherwise the road truly would get blocked 🙂

I reckon when the third dark curse gets broken, they will just show the footage of Dopey transforming in reverse because the actor isn’t on the show anymore. That would be a way round it, providing they remember that he’s a tree and about the third dark curse that is …

The War Within (Chapter Thirteen)

Synopsis: Alternate Season Six. Storybrooke is visibly under threat once more from Hyde and the Evil Queen. However, not all threats are visible as an old forgotten foe has been manipulating events from behind the scenes. The very nature of darkness is revealed as everyone struggles with the most difficult beast of all – acceptance.

Note: This chapter is plot-centric but I will be posting chapter 14 on Friday which is full of Rumbelle goodness. I know I haven’t balanced the chapters very well. That’s because when I write my outline I don’t know how long the scenes will be, which sometimes makes the writing .. interesting 🙂 Anyway, enjoy!

Warning: Spoiler alert but there’s basically what amount to zombies in this chapter. There’s no really disgusting descriptions because I personally don’t like that but the dead do walk Storybrooke.

A little over one hundred years ago

“Father,
father!” John Darling screamed, running down the corridor.

His little
brother, Michael scrambled to keep up, his sock covered feet slipping on the
wood flooring. John collided heavily with the wooden door of his parents
bedroom. He banged loudly with the side of his hand, and shot Michael a
panic-stricken look. The door was flung open, their father framed by the light
of the lamp inside the room.

“What on earth
is the matter?” George Darling demanded.

“It’s Wendy
father, she went after Baelfire, the shadow took her,” John cried, his chest
heaving as he struggled not to cry.

That was so sad that the Darlings lost all their children. Not very smart of John, just waiting there in his nightshirt to be taken by the Shadow. He should have been sturdily dressed with pockets stuffed full of supplies. Pocketknife, compass, string, paper and pencil, you never know what might have come in useful. Zombies, ugh! Just when you think you’ve gotten rid of scum like Cora, her corpse comes back. Henry’s excitement at getting a sword was adorable. 

Yeah it was quite idiotic of John but then he looked like he was maybe 6 on the show during the flashback part? Possibly 7 or 8 but even so he was very young and he didn’t think it through. He could see the happy ending and it was like it had already happened, the messy middle was just like /shrug I’ll figure it out.

Today has been very productive. I … finished The War Within *dances* … although finished is relative because of the handful of oneshots I’m going to add to the verse. However, the main chaptered story is complete. That’s the first WIP I can tag as complete and that feels pretty damn good.

I then thought I should at least start thinking about my Rumbelle Revelry fic (shh I know it’s been ages but I’ve been busy) and I have a plot! My prompt words couldn’t have been better for it. I’ve decided to Rumbelle ‘The Tomb’ which should be fun.

Now, I just need to decide whether I want Dr Gold and Dr French to be partners or adversaries (at the beginning). Any opinions?

I’m leaning towards them being married and working together. There’s not enough fic like that. Although it would simplify matters a little bit, as there is one survivor from the ‘adversary’ team and obviously if it was Belle vs Gold, then the survivor would be one of them.

Yeah … this fic is going to have a hefty warning for character deaths. I mean four people on the missing team, three out of four on the adversary team. That’s seven people, although we only witness three of the deaths, so I suppose those are the ones that kinda matter. I have a real problem killing people I like, I don’t know if I can do it.

In fact if anyone had any suggestions about who to kill off, I’d love opinions on that as well 🙂

Hogwarts House: If I could choose then Ravenclaw but the hat would have probably wanted to put me in Hufflepuff. I sometimes joke and say I’m a Huffleclaw or something 🙂

Favorite color: Blue
Time: 10:15am

Last thing I googled: The correct spelling of Hufflepuff because I wasn’t 100% sure. When I was little I read it wrong and thought it was ‘Hugglepuff’ which made sense to me, because that was the nice house, so I thought they hugged people (I was 10 or something). I’ve been paranoid by the spelling ever since I learnt my mistake.

Fictional character I want as sibling: Henry Mills because maybe he could lend me the author pen, and then I would write stories in my sleep. Honestly, I’m so jealous that he just wakes up and his work is done. That is a pretty awesome superpower.

Number of blankets I sleep with: Oh boy, nowhere near as many as I used to because we moved about 18 months ago and this house has central heating. So I have one duvet mostly, occasionally two if I’m really chilly.

Favorite bands/Artists: This changes over time and I’ll go through phases. For example right now I’m listening to Barenaked Ladies. I have no clue who they are but I like some of their songs. However, next week I could be back to listening to The Rat Pack, or I might go miscellaneous sixties, or Maroon 5, or Linkin Park or Nickelback. Maybe some indie artists Luke Conard, Alex Goot. You name it, I’ll have listened to it. I listen to a lot and music is never wasted because I will go back to things.

Dream Vacation: If it’s a dream then I’ll pretend that all of the issues I have with vacations don’t exist so … America! I would like to see all the places I have only seen on the TV. Yes, basically I want to do a tour of filming locations. Sure, regular tourist stuff is fun too but I can google for much better pictures of those things. I like to see stuff that I can’t google/buy so easily.

When did I make this blog: May of this year which is kinda sad. I didn’t really know tumblr or the rumbelle fandom existed before then, I’m always late to the party.

What do I post about: Mostly Once Upon a Time, Rumbelle, Swanfire, Gold Family, Regina etc. but some Stargate, and I’ve started posting some Marvel and Star Trek recently. Occasionally I’ll post about another TV show. I suppose the bulk of my posts are either reblogged gifsets or talking about fanfic in some form. Either posting fanfic, commenting on fic or prompts for fic.

Do you get asks on regular basis?: No not really. However, my askbox is always open and I do TMI Tuesday so people should feel free 🙂

Aesthetic: I’m not too sure what this means, like my perfect surroundings or something? Erm well I like winter, I like blankets and I love writing. So my office/living room and some uninterrupted time alone to write? I’m not sure if that answers this or not.

I think everyone has probably done this by now.

This is officially an open prompt needing a good home and some cuddles.

Why doesn’t somebody use it for this months @a-monthly-rumbelling “wrong phone number” prompt? Like Rumple was trying to dial the cauldron for Regina (or authors choice) and he got one of the symbols upsidedown and wound up calling the cauldron in the next kingdom over – Belle’s.

There were five prompts on the Rumbelle Blow-off list that I liked and thought I would maybe take a stab at writing … eventually. I can handle the plot part no problem but I’m still working up my courage for the smut part. Anyway, three of them made it into the final five – score! Except the winning prompt was not one of those three /facepalm

Oh well, I suppose that’s one less event for me to worry about. I have Rumbelle Revelry (due in October), A Monthly Rumbelling (every month) and then Rumbelle Secret Santa when that comes round. Plus all my own fics and the WIP list is getting longer … and longer.

You know if I only procrastinated half as much I would write so much more. Note to self – try harder. I have so many fic ideas and it’s taking far too long to get them written, hence why the list is getting longer and not shorter.

This month is going to be very unbalanced in terms of fic. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to post something every Tuesday and Friday. However, that still leaves several fics that will get posted in one big fic splurge at the end of the month. Providing of course I get them written but I’m going to do my best. I have a list, I have put it in order of priority and I am working my way down.

I won’t get any writing time tonight though *whistles* .. have to watch Captain America: Civil War – can’t wait! 🙂

That evening
found a large chunk of Storybrooke once more outside of city hall. The polls
had closed an hour earlier for the votes to be counted. Granny had marched
inside and peered down her glasses at everyone in there, pronouncing that there
would be no ‘funny business’ and she would be double checking the count.

Regina obviously hadn’t objected. Granny had
always been close with Snow and David, she frequently babysat for baby Neal.
However, Alexander had offered no objection either. Perhaps, Regina mused, that was because he thought
that he had Granny’s support. Granny had refused to publically state an
opinion, which she had to admit did seem tantamount to supporting the
opposition.

“It’ll be ok
mom,” Henry reassured her.

“I know,” Regina replied.

Truthfully it
wasn’t actually the election that was playing on her mind. She had spent a few
hours this afternoon, along with Emma and Henry, searching for Jekyll. They
hadn’t found him and nobody claimed to have seen him in a couple of days. In
fact they hadn’t found anyone who had seen Jekyll since Hyde’s disappearance.
It was an ominous coincidence.

Haha the kiss is … well spoiler alert but … *whistles*.

As for Hades nobody gave me permission but it made sense, Zelena has to remain relevant somehow if she isn’t on ‘Team Hero’ because villains can’t last forever or the heroes look inept. However, if you liked Arthur in the underworld … you might be interested in what happens in *checks outline* not Tuesday’s chapter, the chapter after that (chapter fourteen) most likely.

There’s three chapters left of the main story, though I have lots of oneshots I’m going to add to the verse showing different things and it’ll be open to prompts of course. Thanks for commenting – I loved the gif reactions! 🙂

I think I’m going to up my queue to four a day, and reblog either Marvel or Star Trek once a day. I’m always paranoid about spamming posts but one more a day hopefully won’t hurt any. While this blog is predominately Once Upon a Time, and my love for Stargate is forever, I do like other stuff.

It probably won’t be a permanent addition to the queue, although my queue format will have to probably change at some point. Right now I have Stargate, then Once Upon a Time, and then Nicholas Rush, in that order every day. Eventually I’m going to run out of Rush pictures/gifsets 🙁

Captain America: Civil War dvd comes out tomorrow!!!! I can’t wait to watch it again. I might even watch it twice in a row. I did that with the first Avengers movie because it was so great, I finished it and then still wanted to watch it. Plus I’m absolutely in love with Star Trek: Beyond at the moment, also I’ve got into Star Trek: Enterprise and I really can’t wait for the new Star Trek series! It’s going to be on netflix so I’m going to be able to watch it!

I love netflix. Netflix is what enables me to watch Once Upon a Time just 3 days after it airs in the US 🙂 it’s so helpful.

Ok I’m going to stop being random now and go write the next chapter of The War Within. There’s only three chapters left, so it’s all going to start wrapping up. Hopefully the conclusion will be satisfying, plus I have 4 planned oneshots to add to the verse, so the end is not ‘the end’ entirely.
