Just got my May Day Menagerie assignment and I’m super stoked! It wasn’t what I was expecting because I’d said I’d basically write anything, in an effort to help with the matching. I was preparing myself to write out of my comfort zone, and instead I wound up with my first choice. I don’t quite know how that happened, lucky me I guess 🙂
Is anyone else bizarrely disappointed that the hiatus is nearly over? There were so many more things I wanted to write.

Yeah that’s what I’m worried about. I lost a good chunk of my writing output to fix it fics last November. I like all my current ideas. I need more time to write them before I get anymore heh 🙂

What good could come of ever admitting how I feel? We can never be together and acknowledging the truth will only lead to heartbreak. I suppose if Belle were to confess to feeling feelings, then I would of course not let her believe that she was alone in that. However, I can’t imagine that Belle would ever admit such a thing, or indeed feel any such feelings.

I like Belle, she’s nice! I wish she could stay always. She makes everything better. When she comes for dinner it’s the best! She plays games with me, and she reads to me. She even does voices! Papa smiles a lot more too and I like that. Aunty Mal says Papa is a lucky dog *wrinkles nose* does that mean we’re getting a dog?

I just love the idea of Gold listening to Belle’s concerns about their dating life and immediately suggesting the the kids can watch over themselves for a couple hours. 🙂
Also, Emma’s thoughts that poor Bae had a younger sibling to destroy his denial made me laugh. So, no younger brother for Emma in this version? Or just not yet? lol

Heh I’m glad you enjoyed it! No Emma doesn’t have a younger brother (yet) though that could still happen. This verse is ‘finished’ for the moment, but as it started with a oneshot and now has 3 multi-chapter fics + 1 oneshot due to prompts, never say never to adding more 🙂 Thank you so much for the lovely comment!
I ship more than just Rumbelle but they are my main OTP. In fact this moment in Skin Deep is when I fell for them. When he caught her and she looked at him like he was a hero, and he looked at her like he couldn’t believe what he’d done. Then can we say flustered? With them both pretending it wasn’t a big deal. Yikes I was done for!
Now Rumbelle has a fair few AU’s built in as my bingocard shows e.g. knight!Rumple, GoldenLace etc. Now, judging by what I mostly write I could just say AU – Non-Magical but that’s a cop-out heh. Truthfully it’s hard to pick because what I love the most is a good story. I mean the Rumbelle fandom is so talented, I swear some of them could write a story about Rumbelle watching paint dry and I would be riveted.
Oooh I just saw it was trope/AU and picking a trope is easier than a setting! Heh. I mean I do have weaknesses for various settings. I’ve read every Regency Rumbelle fic I can find for instance. However, I wouldn’t say that was my favorite because to be honest it very much depends on the story. It could be an AU I enjoy like Regency but if the implementation/twist is something I’m not so keen on so I would give it a pass.
Right trope! I love so many, but my absolute favorite has to be mutual support/understanding/comforting one another etc. I hope that is actually a trope. I just love it when characters talk to one another, and help each other out. I’m a real sucker for fics where Rumbelle are already married/together and then they have to deal with an external problem.
I like it when they work as a team. Don’t get me wrong, most of what I write is Rumbelle getting together, and I do absolutely love reading those stories as well. It’s just the question was “pick a favorite” and so I had to pick just one.

“Tell me we can stop for tea on the way?”I’m glad that she called him out loud on his drinking, and not wanting to be a ‘drunken fumble’. It might make him think twice about how much he has to drink next time. Not to mention playing second best to Beau – Belle’s smart to recognise that if who he is doesn’t hold up to his physical attraction, then it’s not going to be worth pursuing anything with him.

Well everyone in that arrangement is suffering. Two couples, both in love but not with whom they have to marry. Lady Ariel would be a suitable match for Prince Eric but she’s from a noble family within his kingdom. Obviously Belle is a Queen which is a much more advantageous match.
Yup I could have had it be the same cup as on the show, but taking tea in delicate cups like that would be something Belle would do at the palace, and so therefore not with Rumple. I wanted it to be a moment between the both of them. Anyway, thank you so much for the new prompts! I will get on those as soon as I can 🙂
