A word count calendar for my NaNo donor gift. I had to pay an exorbitant customs charge (UK donors beware) but annoyance about that aside, I do like it š Best of all it can be used for any month of the year, and for any word count target which is useful.
You know I think that the best thing about season six of Once Upon a Time is that Regina is in almost every scene. Like I did last week Iāve attempted to split it into sections so you can just read what interests you. However, itās only half as long as last weeks (just 2k) so I managed to not ramble quite as much š

Fav fictional character: I love so many. However, given I mostly post Once Upon a Time, Iāll just take it from that show so Rumplestiltskin followed closely by Regina (I know, thatās cheating).
Blankets I sleep with: 1 heavy weight duvet, unless Iām cold, in which case I add a lighter duvet. At the old house (we didnāt have central heating) and I used to have a fleece blankets as well. I get cold easily.
Fav artists/band: Music is never wasted on me. I have phases when Iāll listen to one artist/group of artists a lot, and then Iāll switch and listen to something completely different. I cross the spectrum from Kid Rock to Frank Sinatra. I love all music really.
Dream trip: Oh man I donāt know, I donāt actually like travelling, and some places that look amazing in pictures have super scary bugs/snakes etc. like Australia. However, if I had to answer I guess I would say America.

When did your blog reach its peak: Well Iāve gained followers over time so I guess right now, but I donāt really understand the question.
Why did you get tumblr: I had lurked around the edges of the Rumbelle fandom for a really long time and then Rumbelle is Hope was suggested, and I really wanted to take part. I donāt like missing out on things. Whenever I join something new I always bemoan that I donāt have a time turner, to go back and join it when it started.
Do you get asks on a daily basis: Nope.
Why did you choose your URL: Back in 2005 I created a personal website/blog and (still-searching.net) was the URL I chose. 47 is my favorite number and together that was available on tumblr. Everything else I tried was already taken.
Oooooh yay the new prompts for Monthly Rumbelling are up. Honestly, the time difference between the UK and the US drives me mad sometimes. I keep having to remind myself that itās only mid-morning for them, even though Iām about to go to bed.
Ok I was kinda hoping the regular prompt would be something I could do anyelle with as I havenāt done that yet. However āMr Gold loses his caneā is kinda specific š I just typed that I didnāt have an idea and I was thinking about it ā¦ and then I got an idea so I guess that will be happening.
Honestly I suppose I should be grateful, lack of ideas is one problem I donāt have heh š
Anyway that smut prompt ā¦ that is definitely going to be a thing. It was already on my list because there was a similar one which wasnāt picked for the Great Rumbelle Blow Off. This will kill two prompts with one stone. I suppose if I want to write anyelle I could do it for this prompt instead. Hmm, thatās something to consider ā¦ I will have to think on it!
It appears that I will be writing āall the thingsā again. I kinda failed at that last month, so hereās hoping the procrastination demon will behave better. I need to practice for NaNo after all š
Honestly Iām like a kid on Christmas š Iāve accomplished nothing for a good chunk of the afternoon because I was waiting for the site to come back up.
Anyway, Iāve now created my project. Itās a bit light on details at the moment but itĀ isĀ only October 1st. Iām going to have to go eat dinner in a bit but I will continue writingĀ Painting Layers of LoveĀ when I get back. The 150 words I managed between hitting F5 on the NaNo site, is not exactly going to cut it haha.

Thatās Chris Batyās book about NaNo, and I couldnāt resist the reference sorry š Erm, yeah no I totally get it. Iām very much a planner, so thereās no way I could do NaNo either if I didnāt know what I was writing.
Ok, how about some questions. Like do you want to write an original novel or fanfic? If itās original then I donāt know, what genre do you fancy? Genre isĀ always a good place to start. If itās fanfic, erm thereās that prompt tumblr which might spark something.
You know, this is actually a really good excuse to go rewatch/reread all your favorite shows/books, to get in the mood for whatever kind of writing you feel like doing – just call it research š

The stated aim of NaNo is toĀ āwrite a book in a monthā orĀ ā50k in a monthā but blah that isnāt what itās really about. That is what you do, that isnāt what it is.
NaNo is about pushing yourself further than you could get on your own. It doesnāt matter whether you write 50k, a complete novel, 10k, 100k or whatever. The important thing is the taking part. My biggest regret isnāt the two years I didnāt make 50k, itās the year I didnāt sign up at all.
Itās about setting a personal challenge, and like I said it doesnāt matter what that is, and smashing old records (whatever they are) and just generally going for it! Itās about stretch goals, reaching for the stars. Maybe you get it, maybe you donāt, but at the end of the day youāre going to have more than you would otherwise. Itās just about trying your best.
So yeah, thatās what NaNo is. Itās magic.
Checked out the FAQs, thanks. šĀ 50k Sounds doable ā¦ if one had an idea. xD Would mean no fic updates and probably no RSS though.

A lot of people use their current fan fiction as their NaNo project as encouragement to finish it. Doing NaNo does not mean putting aside fanfic, unless you chose to do so in favor of working on something strictly original.
You can do that, use something thatās already half-written? I didnāt know that. Well, it could be helpful to have a further incentive to finish a WIP, but original project sounds good too. Mhm, need to sleep on this.
Yes, you can. I know several fanfic writers who have done that. NaNo is more about the process of writing and putting the time into producing something, as well as the encouragement you get from others. What you choose to write doesnāt matter.

I mean I think the NaNo FAQ saysĀ āgive yourself the gift of a clean slateā as sometimes if a project is part-done, then itās hard to have the oomph to finish it in the timeframe. However, equally NaNo can kickstart projects and finally get them completed. I think itās a YMMV situation.
So yeah do fanfic, do original, continue a project, start a new one – do everything! The choice is yours š
I was a draenei holy paladin, then I switched to Mistweaver monk. yeah, Iām the same, I have an alt of everythingā¦I think I have likeā¦3 paladins at level 90+ plus most everything else at at least 90 as well.
I quit for a long time after my guild fell apart (over a year) it just wasnāt the same after that, I was there for years, we were all freinds, it was so sad.
Iām really enjoying Legion so far, though I thought Warlords was shit (another reason I quit) but Iām still salty that theyāre murdering all the important lore characters, including one of my all time faves! *sob*
edit: my current main is a blood elf demon hunter on Draenor EU (I called her Dearies, creative I know, but all variations of Rumple/Rumbelle were taken lmao)
Paladins rule! Best class in the game naturally. (just teasing, the best class is what you love the most).
I never really got on with monks that well. I liked the dps spec, oh man what was that called? But I was the worlds worst healer, I think that there wasnāt enough direct heals for me, I just couldnāt nail the style. Then for brewmaster, I donāt think there was enough self-healing for me, which coming off a Prot Pally makes sense (we self-healed like a boss. It was my mission in raids to not need any healing aside from AOE).
I quit for the first time during Mists final long patch, took about 9 months out, but I came back for Warlords, but I quit again before the first patch as I just wasnāt enjoying it. They had gutted everything Iād enjoyed the most about the game though Iām glad to hear you are enjoying Legion š Iām not one of those bitter ex-players. The game might not be what I love any longer, but I still have good memories, and I like to hear that other people are having fun.
Heh man, like I said all the nostalgia š I was such an achievement junkie, and a collector and a completionist. Basically, I wanted to do āall the thingsā which is so very like me. I used to farm mounts/pets/legendaries every reset. I was actually raid leader for a while, never really heroic (or mythic as it is now) but we used to clear normal and get a couple of heroic bosses down.

Synopsis: Following directly on from The War Within. Rumplestiltskin and Belle have a lot to talk about. True loves kiss might have woken Belle from the sleeping curse but their marriage wonāt be fixed over night. They have a little less than nine months to sort themselves out as a couple – then theyāll become a family. Itās time for them to reconcile properly, and to finally have the courtship that circumstances originally denied them.
Note: I was worried that I would lose my drive to write this after the premiere aired but no worries. Apparently my brain considers it different enough that itās not a problem. Anyway, this is the last of what I call the āreconciliationā chapters. It ties up some loose ends and I might have taken a prompt from a comment I got on AO3, probably not supposed to do that but ooops š The next chapter will probably be excessively fluffy. I hope you enjoy!

It was dinner
at Grannyās again. They had the table by the window and Emma sat at the back,
taking a moment from her family before she would lean forward and join them
again. For a change Emma wasnāt sitting next to Hook, she had pulled Henry down
next to her before he could claim his customary seat to her left. Hook had
given her an odd look but said nothing.The truth was
Emma needed time to think. She loved Hook, she was certain about that, but
things couldnāt continue how they had been going. At first it had just been
infatuation, he had pursued her and she had clung to him because it was easy.
Now, she chose to love him because love could be a choice. Privately she
admitted that probably meant that they werenāt actually true love, but that
didnāt matter.True love was
something from a fairy tale, and despite being the ādaughter of Snow White and
Prince Charmingā her life had never been a fairy tale. To be honest she wasnāt
sure what she would do with that kind of life. The kind of love that was hard
work, where the love wasnāt always easy but she chose it, that felt more like
her reality.A weekly movie or games night at the Gold house sounds good! And exactly what you said, letās have just some quiet ordinary life for a while; Henry needs to chill and simply be a kid!
Yup I think some peace and quiet would help everyone, not just Henry. I referenced the regular movie nights in Heās Behind You, so this is where they started š
Anyway, I think they all need some time, particularly Emma, but the others as well. Plus, if thereās several mostly peaceful months, I can write all the Rumbelle fluff I like š Iām glad you enjoyed it!

At the beginning of this month I set myself a challenge to āwrite all the thingsā and it didnāt exactly go according to plan. My two small oneshots for The War Within, turned into Faith of the Heart, a proper sequel. I didnāt manage to finish it before the premiere, which was my goal, but I certainly tried. With Faith of the Heart being so much longer, I then didnāt have the time for the other projects, meaning I had to push them back another month – again.
Also, just so no-one thinks I have forgotten, on my āupcomingā list I have a couple more oneshots for The War Within verse, and additions to In Your Arms and Between Two Fires verses. Then the prompt verses of Love at the Marina and Renaissance Faire, and my Rushbelle fic Ripple Effect which I swear will happen one day. Iām like an elephant, I never forget fics that I have promised, they just sometimes take me a while.
Oh and just for the comedy factor. In addition to the fics Iāve mentioned in this post, I have 20 more ideas noted down potentially for āone dayā. They might never happen, but hey at least Iām never going to be short of ideas š

OMG! I just realized that the wand Rumple used in 6×01 is the Apprenticeās Wand! It can only be wielded by someone with both light and dark magic. SOā¦the biggest baddest sum of all Dark Ones has FUCKING LIGHT MAGIC!!! Yeeeeeeessssss!!!!!!

Erm well my instinctive answer was no because Zelena wielded it and thereās nothing but darkness in her. So I went back to the transcript and it said:
Apprentice: It is a gift from the sorcerer, from Merlin, on the day I became his apprentice. In it is all the light magic.
Mary Margaret: It can take us to our daughter?
Apprentice: Not on its own. In order to cross realms, it must be wielded as it was forged, with both sides of the coin. Light and the dark.
Regina: I guess thatās my cue.
(it fails)
Hook: You heard the man, it needs darkness. Youāve gone soft. Howās this for irony? Youāve done too much good. No, we need someone wicked.
So my interpretation was that the wand was filled with light magic, and so it needed someone with dark magic to wield it. The wand had the light magic, not the user, which is why Zelena could use it but Regina struggled.
