So a Rebels appreciation week has happened while I have been computer-less. I might have contributed if I had been allowed but alas.

I have now liked soooooo many posts ready to reblog as soon as I can get on the PC and tag. Incoming Rebels spam šŸ™‚

It’s appropriate too as I have been doing a Rebels rewatch lately. I’m mid season two, so Ahsoka has turned up and gosh I love them all so much. Like I know it’s probably sacrilege or something but Ghost crew are my absolute Star Wars faves. Clone Wars era is close second, Original Trilogy third and then the Sequels (Finn, Poe, BB-8!).

I’m a little bitter that my Lego dark ages happened during Rebels run as I missed out on all the sets. The minifigs are extortionate to buy secondhand šŸ™ I did at least manage to BrickLink enough pieces to build a Ghost under heavy repair (not everything colour matched).

I painted Chopper (and R2 and BB-8) when I did some painting for my birthday last month. I can’t remember if I shared that on here? It’s on my Instagram. I’ll check when I’m on a PC if I remember.

I’m going to make a little bet with myself.

On Monday I bet I will get another ā€œwe haven’t forgotten but have done nothingā€ email from the PC company.

Now if I’m wrong I’ll be really happy, and if I’m right I get to feel satisfied at being right. So win win šŸ™‚ well not really but I’m trying to look for the upside here.

Started another WIP today (Gentlemen of Blood) as it was New Moon Madness on WriYe.

Wrote the first scene in which the Prime Minister got shot. I realised after a bit I should probably look up and get the name of the PM rather than just calling him ā€œPMā€ all the time. I’ll fix that in editing.

So that takes me to 4 fanfic WIPs (+ 2 planned oneshots), and I’m sitting on 3 finished oneshots (for prompt month) plus the 4 or 5 chapters of finished MerMay story that is waiting for the illustration before I can post. Clearly I’m all in on this fanfic thing at the moment šŸ˜›

Tomorrow I’ll go back to the crossover fic and the Sins of Atlantis as I’m not far off finishing chapter two. I’ll hopefully continue and get into the next part as well. I’m expecting chapter 2 to end on a bang with the world dissolving around them into an alternate reality.

Re: the other two WIPs. I have the opening scenes written for Time Will Tell (aka the soulmate AU) and it’s planned obviously. As for Shadow Play I have one random scene and a lot of notes, no concrete plan yet just an idea of what I want to achieve.

My hope is that I will finish all The Librarian’s prompt month stuff this month (including and the Sins of Atlantis) and also Gentlemen of Blood. That will wipe the WIP slate clean and essentially get me back to where I was before prompt month and the 2 WriYe challenges added 8 more fics to my list. Then next month for NaNo I was thinking I’ll write Time Will Tell. I had planned to start the first draft of a new novel but truthfully I haven’t finished the last one yet (I know, I know I feel bad about it too).

The less said about the 2 Librarians art projects the better :/ I will poke at them again soon but I was feeling so discouraged last time, I was waiting until I had the mental oomph to grit my teeth and persist. I really wish I was better at drawing šŸ˜”

In other news I miss my computer šŸ™ it’s been two weeks without it and still no ETA on when the new one will arrive. I confess to checking my email a bit compulsively hoping for an update but alas nothing.

It’s frustrating. I mean I have all kinds of things I can do without it (and I am trying to do them) but I keep thinking of everything I could do with it. I want to make gifs and to be able to open more than one gdoc at a time. I haven’t played Assassins Creed in months but now I can’t I really want to (and stupid stuff like that). I really want to finish my MerMay drawing.

But anyway nothing to do but wait. At least I can still write! I started this month with my iPad keyboard also busted. Imagine if I had no keyboard at all? That would be way worse.

Wheee and that’s another oneshot finished!

and the Brighter Side of Life

Joins the pile ready for prompt month. That is three fics covering 4 prompts now.

Tomorrow I’m going to start on the major crossover which will cover about 11 of the prompts šŸ˜‚ which now has a title… and the Sins of Atlantis.

I just wish the art side of this month was going half as well as the writing side. Frustrating is the word right now :/

Lol so all that research earlier for what amounted to a 2k fic just because I wanted to be sure that the timeline worked for it /facepalm.

But yes! I succeeded in writing a regular sized oneshot. It ended at 2k (I am bizarrely proud of myself).

So now I have two fics for the prompt month written:

– and the Guardian’s Dilemma

– and the Outsiders

and yes I am choosing to title my fics like they titled the episodes. It seems like a fun thing to do for The Librarians.

Which leaves three oneshots on the list, the crossover… and yes Gentlemen of Blood for Sanctuary. Planning it last night was a mistake because once planned I have to write it šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø I don’t make the rules.

I’m thinking I’ll see if I can knock out another oneshot tomorrow and then start on either the crossover, or Gentlemen of Blood on Monday. I went AU in the end as it seemed more fun. I am drawing inspiration from the Sherlock Holmes movies and from Bond’s Quantum of Solace. In fact I had a holy shit moment re: the Sherlock Holmes movies. I put in my planning document ā€œWhy did Worth steal cyanide instead of using his custom toxin?ā€ and then I remembered Blackwood and the cyanide gas, having provided his followers with the antidote beforehand and boom – mind blown.

I kinda want to do another drawing for The Librarians now. I want to illustrate the fic I just wrote and draw Lamia and Cassandra. I don’t know if I will. I might see if I can have a poke at it on my tablet. I have procreate after all. Could be a disaster but if it is I don’t have to show anyone.

Oh man working out flight times and time differences is a total headache.

I’m looking at episode 1 šŸ˜‚

When they picked up Cassandra it was dark outside. Google says flight time from New York to Oklahoma City is about 5 hours. That is a different time zone but they only gain an hour. Stone was at the bar. We don’t know exactly I think what time of year it was supposed to be but given it’s Christmas just a couple of episodes later, an approximate time of a couple of months because Eve kept them training for what 6 weeks something like that? So it could be October/November time in which case sunset in October is about 7pm and November more like 5:45. It was properly dark and Eve would still have to travel to and from the airport. So November is more likely and then it would be midnight+ at the bar with Stone which just about tracks.

Flynn flew to Geneva to get Ezekiel and it was daytime. It’s over a 9 hour flight and Geneva is 6 hours ahead, making the time of day effectively 15+ hours after he left. So that’s got to be midday/early afternoon. Then it’s a 9 hour trip back but gains the 6 hours. As an aside it’s apparently a 21 hour drive from Oklahoma City to New York.

Either way I’m thinking Flynn was definitely gone for about 36 hours after meeting Cassandra. So the meeting with all of them at the library wasn’t the next morning but probably the morning after that.

Eve was tighter on time than Flynn to get to her meeting with Stone. So she can’t have spent long with Cassandra, and Flynn left Eve with Cassandra so didn’t sort her out himself unfortunately.

Anyway the point of this is I think Cassandra was left on her own for those 36 hours. It’s possible that Eve went to see her at some point during the day after she’d retrieved Stone and returned to New York, but as I doubt Eve would know what to say to her I’m thinking it was a short check-in if anything.

Which means the best opportunity for Lamia to reach Cassandra would be during that day/night after Lamia went to Oklahoma to kill Stone, and before Cassandra went to the library with the others. At this point Cassandra has been told she’s in danger and had the magic ā€œI’m the librarianā€ used on her so she doesn’t know what’s going on.

Ok timeline works! Fic writing can now commence šŸ™‚

Still no ETA on the new PC :/

(That’s why I’m not reblogging much at the moment. Tagging and queueing on mobile is too much of a pain.)

Anyway I want to talk about my fic plans for the month. I had pencilled in June to write either Shadow Play or Time Will Tell (long Sanctuary fics) but then I decided to do The Librarians prompt month and those tentative plans went out of the window.

I have plans for five oneshots, one longer fic and a drawing. I have finished one of the oneshots already – and the Guardian’s Dilemma – and I have sort of started the drawing. I always do fandom art digitally but without a computer I decided to try to do it with pencils.

It’s not going well. I’m having scaling problems. I miss the ability to resize my canvas, resize my lines and just generally move around parts of the drawing. I’m trying though and I guess it’s good experience.

I haven’t completely abandoned Sanctuary for The Librarians this month as the longer fic I’m planning is a crossover. I haven’t really written one of those in probably 12 years. I’ve done fusions but I don’t think I’ve done an out and out crossover since I mixed Without a Trace, Alias, Numb3rs and CSI:NY when I was 19. This time I’m going for a Librarians/Sanctuary crossover with a side of Stargate (no Stargate characters appear but there will be heavy use of the Ancients and Atlantis lore).

Also WriYe has a challenge this month called ā€œWhat’s in a name?ā€ where they provide a long list of titles and you pick whatever speaks to you and write a story for it. One of the titles is Gentlemen of Blood which just screamed Sanctuary to me. I would quite like to write it and I have a tentative concept regarding the Worth affair in 1909 but it’s not planned yet. Whether that happens this month or not is still uncertain. I do have a lot on otherwise with the prompt month and I know me, this could easily be another 50k fic, they do have a tendency to go there šŸ™„ Plus I can’t quite decide whether to make it AU or technically canon-compliant. If I go AU I can do a happy ending for my OT3 and if I go canon then obviously I can’t.

Perhaps I’ll see about planning Gentlemen of Blood this evening and then I’ll hopefully have a better idea as to whether writing it would be possible or not. Plus that means I can stop poking this drawing which would be a relief. Eve looks so wrong right now 😭

It’s Camp NaNo next month. My pencilled in plans for June (before I went all in on the prompt month) included finishing off the novel I’m currently writing, and planning my next one to start for Camp in July. I’m currently going bwahaha at that idea. I mean I would love to but that is not at all realistic. I am supposed to prioritise the novels over the fanfic but I have never been very good at balance.

I read somewhere (can’t remember where now) the idea of ā€œwrite what you want to have written, not what you want to writeā€ and I can totally see the sense in that. As it is satisfying when a task is done, to know I did the right thing. But at the same time I have to actually do it and robbing myself of all fun in the present isn’t going to work. So as much as I’m not pleased with myself for writing fanfic instead of my OG novel, I know myself. If I tried to be strict I would end up writing nothing and be miserable. Something is better than nothing even if it’s objectively the wrong something. Also the bad voice at the back of my head tells me lies, like ā€œyou can do everything if you just work harderā€ :/

I’m hoping to knock out more of the Librarians oneshots in the next few days so I then I have less on my list (and it’s less overwhelming). I’m sure I’ll ramble again about how I’m doing.

Ordered my new PC.

The spec made my expression go like:

Seriously it is wow. I pushed the boat out a bit and it is still better than I thought I could afford. The next couple of weeks are going to suck until it arrives (being without a PC is weird) but then it’s going to be so shiny!! šŸ™‚

A couple of things really stood out to me in that Leverage: Redemption trailer.

1) was that Sophie’s Lady Macbeth outfit (from the shows premiere and finale) that I spied?

2) the callback to ā€œjust one job, no encoresā€ which obviously they can never stick to haha

3) the possibility of the in-universe reason why Hardison isn’t always around is because he is managing Leverage International (and that’s a good reason!)

4) idk about anyone else but I was a bit worried they would just replace Nate with Harry and sideline Parker. But Parker moving to stop him from triggering the alarm and Sophie going ā€œhe needs to learnā€ just underscores how new he is so I have a lot more hope now.

I’m just so psyched for this. When is the UK airdate guys? I can’t wait!

Ok so today was a lot.

Busiest work week for mum’s business in the entire year and her computer broke. Like why this week? I mean worst possible week for it (oh hey that’s why!). Anyway long story short I’ve had to give her mine.

So I’m computer-less for the first time in… a little over 20 years? I don’t know. It’s weird. I mean I’m not without tech (I have my phone) but no computer means no Warcraft (sorry guild, at least we are on a raid break) and most critically for me no photoshop.

My MerMay drawing is clearly not happening now until sometime next month. I was partway through making a gifset and obviously that’s on hold. I’m sad about that to be honest. I mean I know it’s not going to be forever, and I know it’s not important, but I miss it anyway.

Really could have done without this today.
