Heya sorry to bother you *waves* but you are about the only person I know these days that plays Warcraft. I’ve been trying to do everything in order as I like to follow the story, and I think I stumbled onto a later patch (and I see another one is about to drop eeek) but I totally don’t get how Illidan has returned. I’ve googled several times and I’m still confused. Sorry if it’s a stupid question and you don’t have to answer. I hope you are having a good week!

Hi!  Not a stupid question at all ! :D.  Apparently Illidan never really died in Black Temple the first time.  He was weakened and imprisoned by Maeiv in the Vault of the Wardens back in Burning Crusade and he broke free for Legion.

The Black Temple thing is kind of confusing because there are people who will tell you he DID die there.  But he turned full demon so now he can only be killed in the Twisting Nether.  It is pretty confusing.  But yeah essentially his body  was imprisoned but his soul broke free or something like that.

Ahhh ok that’s why I was so confused! I’d been googling about “how did Illidan come back from the dead?” and I read that he’d never really died and I scratched my head at that. Because I just got Legion I’d only very very recently done the intro quests, and the Demon Hunter intro etc. and in that I could have sworn that they’d said that Maiev had brought Illidan’s corpse to be imprisoned along with his Illidari.

So alright. It turns out google was giving me the right answer, I just didn’t understand it *roll eyes at me* but fair enough. I mean it did also say in the Demon Hunter intro about how Illidan had a special soul (like a player I guess) which could resurrect upon death. Which would make sense why Maiev would then imprison his body, to stop his soul from being able to reattach and revive. It would be like all those corpse runs where your body is on the other side of the damn wall and you can’t find a way round heh.

Guess what? Thanks to special offers and trade-ins and educational discount etc. etc. I got a new shiny iPad to replace my 8 year old MacBook for less than half-price? about half-price? So much money off anyway. It’s so much lighter (which my back is grateful for as I’ll have to carry it around campus) but the coolest thing about it I’ve discovered so far is the drawing capabilities.

Oh, oh, you know how terrible my handwriting is? Actually you probably don’t but it’s bad. Well this machine can actually recognize it so I can annotate extracts for my course, I can turn notes into text with the touch of a button. It can split-screen! Split-screen! So I can have research on one window, my essay in another. It’s going to be super good for academics but like I said the coolest thing about it is the drawing.

You know I like to play with fanart sometimes well I’m going to be doing that again. I’m stoked to see what I can do with this new piece of kit. Anyway fic first, play with shiny toys later! I know this is a random post but I just wanted to share my excitement. It’s just cool 🙂

Somebody remind me later that I just liked a bunch of posts I want to put in my queue. I don’t have time to do it now. I think sometimes I do this and then I forget so I wind up not reblogging as intended. My test for “have I reblogged this?” is whether the post is liked or not, so we’re in dangerous waters.

Honestly sometimes I think I would forget my head if it wasn’t screwed on *rolls eyes at self* I’m wishing for like the 100th time that the like function had folders or something so I could sort what I’m liking. That would be so helpful.

10. Have you ever written for a fandom without reading other fanfic for it?

Nope. I only write for a fandom if I’m really into whatever it is, and for me the last sort of bastion of “zomg I love this so much” is to create for it. I’ll have gone through all the previous levels of:
– browsing reviews
– looking at promo pictures
– finding the fansites
– watching fan videos on youtube
– reading fanfic
– reading metas

and all the other phases that I’ve forgotten but then it gets to writing reviews, writing headcanons and making stuff.

I’ll never say never though. For instance if I ever did a fic challenge, like “post all the shows/movies that I love and you pop one in my askbox, I’ll write a short fic” – that sounds like fun now I’ve thought of it, but in that case then yeah I might wind up writing for something I haven’t read as I haven’t read for everything that I like. Although I usually wind up searching for fic eventually 🙂

Painting Layers with Love hands down. It actually kinda scared me for a while (alright it still does sometimes) how popular it is. Please, please don’t get me wrong that isn’t a complaint in the slightest. What I mean is that’s intimidating. Being invisible is kinda reassuring in a way. If I screw up then who will know? But if everyone is watching then urk it sort of piles the pressure on.

That’s possibly why I haven’t updated it in forever, I’ve got myself into this cycle and it’s hard to break. I’m scared to write because I don’t want to mess the story up. It’s important to me on so many levels to do this story justice, not just because it’s popular but because the characters really resonate. I mean I suppose they should I wrote them, but I put more of me in this story than I have put in probably any other story. It matters that I get it right. Then I panic because I haven’t updated in ages and so the update better be damn good, and it needs to be now! Cue more panicking and then I just go and do something else because damn I’m scared and I can’t think.

I really just need to sit down and bite the bullet and start typing. Getting started is always the most intimidating part.

Any questions are always ok! You are so good to send me a question every week, I don’t know if I’ve made it clear before how much I appreciate that but I really do *attack hugs you* and heh I did say I loved this question! 🙂

Alright then *rubs hands together* I feel like I should insert that picture now, of the guy standing in front of the board which is covered in pictures and string. *gestures to it* welcome to ‘the plan’ duh duh duh.

Right remember that plan I posted a couple of weeks ago? It was my grand design of “getting back into writing” yeah that kinda, well this is why my plan resembles a conspiracy wall. The oneshot has exploded and is either going to be a long oneshot or a short multi-chapter. Either way I’m not posting until it’s done. As I said yesterday the shame of my unfinished WIP’s cuts far too deep.

Anyway /facepalms this isn’t answering your question is it?

I kinda mention everything. I’m useless at secrets and I ramble about things far too often, so I probably don’t have any secret projects or ideas. I have just less than a month before everything kicks off for the start of university. In that time I WILL (not want to because failure is not an option):

  • Write and post tiny (oh please let it be tiny) GoldenLace Runaway Bride
  • Finish the exploded oneshot which is a combined Magic Teacher/Runaway Bride prompt with bonus savior Rumple and shady Blue. Hopefully it’ll be good!
  • Update my three WIP’s (oh please I need to do this so bad, the guilt, the guilt I tell you!)

In terms of other stuff. I have like 30+ ideas on the list (and I swear they multiply when I’m not looking) but because of that very multiplication I’m not committing to what comes next. I’ve said “this is my next project” so many times and then a new shiny has come along and dazzled me and ooops I’ve changed my mind. I want to write ALL THE THINGS and hopefully one day I will!
