Right let’s do the time warp again let’s do the plan and then make it happen. It worked for NaNo prep, even if NaNo then torpedoed.

I have until January 13th. In that time I want need to:
– finish post-season 2 Garcy fic that I promised Ripper
– finish the Celeb/Fan AU Garcy fic that I promised Ripper
– finish Chapter 11 of Painting Layers of Love (I know I can’t even say it’s been 84 years because it’s been so long *cringes*)
– finish that lingering novel draft
– make heavy inroads into my RBB art
– do the art I have planned for this months AMR

The celeb/fan AU is written I just need to look it over as I wasn’t very happy with it, so some potential redrafting and then post it.

This post-season 2 fic I wanted to have done before the wrap-up movie aired on the 20th (in 4 days!!) so I doubt that’s going to happen but I have no idea when/if I’ll be able to see it, and I can avoid spoilers for a while so I guess a slight delay is ok? *cringes*

The PLL chapter is planned but not started. That novel is only half-written so a long long way to go with that.

I have the basic line art for the AMR drawing but nothing else yet, and I have nothing but the idea for the RBB piece.

So that’s where I need to be and that’s where I’m at.

I’m throwing myself at the post-season 2 fic first and in a few days/hopefully when I’ve made some decent headway I’ll reassess work order priority. Obviously the AMR art needs to be done before the end of the month and cleaning up that fic should be relatively quick so I could just do that and take it off the list.

Ok, here’s hoping I can actually concentrate. Let’s do this thing! 🙂

So I went to a painting session put on yesterday by the Art Society. This doesn’t match my sketch very well because the brushes were huge and I had no control. I know a bad workman blames the tools but I’m a kindergarten painter and need all the help I can get heh.

I wanted to put the quote on the book “I’m offering you a life of mystery, adventure and a chance to save the world every week, twice before Friday.” But I’m lucky I got ‘library’ on there in a legible fashion.

We also have a Stargate as I’m incapable of having a brush/pen in my hand and not drawing one, the Earth gate symbol, a spaceship and a sort of half hourglass to symbolise HG Wells and half tree of knowledge /shrug.

Just fan things 🙂

WIP Sentence Meme

rumple-belle:

I was tagged by @woodelf68. Thank you, dearie!

Rules:  post the last sentence you wrote from your WIP and tag the number of people that there are words.

The knock on the apartment door was loud and sharp, shattering Belle’s quiet contemplation.

(From Hearts Off Balance, chapter 2)

I can’t even think of 14 people to tag right now, but here goes: @mariequitecontrarie, @emospritelet, @goingtothetardis, @perfectlyrose, @rose-tylers, @thatravenclawbitch, @ifishouldvanish, @leaiorganas, @professortennant, @galactic-pirates

Thanks for the tag! 🙂

I have many WIPs but nothing that’s near ready posting (at the moment!) so I’m going to cheat and show a small snapshot of my drawing in progress

I’m at the construction line phase and this is only a fraction of the image. I’m hoping it’ll be cool when it’s done. I’m trying several new things with it so *cross fingers*

@sarashouldbestudying, @little-inkstone, @smartgirlsaremean you are up, if you feel like it 🙂 if not then please ignore and have a nice day!

I’ve reached the part of my Star Wars drawing where I need to decide how to finish it. Do all the shading/textures etc. and this is the part where I usually screw it up. It’s a bit like a story in idea form right now, so much potential and then you start locking it in /sigh

I haven’t used twitter in years but I see the appeal sometimes when I’m working on something like a drawing. It’s quite a frustrating thing to do and even though it probably wouldn’t help in the slightest, I kinda want to share that frustration by doing live-blogs. Like…

– Drawing in 3D is hard

– Who decided this was a good idea again? Oh right me.

– I’m never going to be done in time argh *pulls hair out*

– Ok this is looking slightly more promising

*a minute later*

– Scratch that it’s still rubbish

You get the picture *glares at drawing*

(This also goes for writing, or probably any creative endeavour)

I’m trying to do something for fluffapalooza but I don’t really have enough time so it sucks 🙁

Ideas are always much better as ideas, the execution is so much harder and really kinda disappointing.

Cool Art Trick

You may or may not remember that I was super excited a few days ago because I’d discovered a new art tool. Now I’m not very good at drawing yet, I’m practising and trying to improve whenever I have time but for the moment I still need references.

Making poses look natural, lighting etc. – it’s hard! I was using Design Doll to make custom poses but you can’t save anything without spending money and the default models look more like aliens than people. You can’t clothe them, you can’t add other realistic 3D objects (just boxes so far as I can tell) – it’s limited.

Anyway, a few days ago I discovered Fuse.

It’s a program made by Adobe but it’s currently in beta so it’s absolutely free. This programs makes making 3D people an absolute doddle.

(I would recommend not playing around with the customisation too much. My first attempt I tried to make the model look like Jemma Simmons and when it came time for poses her teeth were sticking out through her skull)

But that’s fine because the face detailing can come later during the drawing phase. What I’m talking about is big picture posing/lighting.

Once the model has been made in Fuse, upload to Mixamo (the program website). This is for two reasons: 1) to be able to download it again in another format, 2) for animation.

Hang on, we’re talking about poses not animation? Well with this they are kinda one and the same. Next step is to download UnrealEngine, which is also free, looks intimidating but is actually simple enough even I could do it. Although admittedly that was because of the incredibly detailed and thorough instructions on this tutorial here.

Basically follow that tutorial and you are pretty much done. All that is left is to import the chosen animation from Mixamo (it references downloading it in the tutorial). Then double click on it in the program to open the animation editor, scan on the frames for the pose that is most like the one you want and then manually adjust the limbs.

Then don’t do what I did and try and export the pose and have to remake it 3x. Just use the dragging sliders to make the viewing area as big as possible and take a screenshot. That’s all you want from this – a reference.

Dada. Done 🙂

One day – obviously – I hope this won’t be necessary. I’m practising sketching in odd moments to try and get my eye in, and steady my hand, so one day I’ll be able to just draw without needing guidelines. That’s the hope anyway.

AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

I just found the best ever tool to help me with my digital painting – if I can learn how to use it.

I’m so excited, I just can’t hide it, I’m so excited … I forget the rest of the lyrics 🙂

You know that drawing I said I wasn’t going to do for Fluffapalooza? Well I have no self-control and I started it and now I regret everything. I guess it has just been long enough since Rumbelle is Hope 2 for the memory to dull. I hate hands! and faces! but seriously hands! hands! they are the devil I swear.

#honestly what am i doing?#i have no artistic talent
