I haven’t watched *an episode*, but I have looked at some Rush scenes on YouTube, seen some stuff on Tumblr, (he’s such a smol, cranky floof,) and read some fics. As long as the RC character in question can be found on YouTube, I’m not *too* afraid. That David Russell guy from The Last Enemy I’m slightly afraid of because I can’t find anything on him. And Shaun of Summer, too. Someday I’d like to do Barney Thomson, but I’m not sure how to handle him either. *pets*

Haha I don’t think you need to be worried about David Russell. There are no fics for him at all. I think I might be the only one who loves him! I really do. I think David Russell might be my third favorite RC character. My third favorite used to be Lachlan but he got bumped down a spot because yikes.

I would recommend The Last Enemy. I mean the main characters are kinda gross but the plot is alright and RC is amazing. No spoilers but hmm is this a spoiler? I don’t think so really *sweats* erm my favorite scene of him is where he blows up his own base. Everyone else freaks and starts running, and he doesn’t even blink and just keeps on striding out with a confident swagger.

I swear I’m going to write an anyelle fic one day with him because I can’t actually believe there aren’t any. I think it’s an injustice. I think I’d also like to try my hand at Ives one day. Have to see if I get round to it.

I haven’t seen Summer. I was going to rent it off Amazon for 99p but I haven’t got round to it yet. I have 56p left of video credit so I really should. I’m a bit worried it’s going to make me cry so I’ve been avoiding it. As for Barney, I can’t ship him romantically with a Belle/Lacey. I just can’t see it. Although I did see someone talking a while back about setting Lacey on him and that would be hilarious. I’d be worried for the poor guys heart though 🙂

To be honest that’s what frightens me about certain anyelle pairings. It’s not the characters themselves because like you said YouTube, it’s “what if I can’t picture it?” – so if I got Barney, or Nosty etc. I’d be in trouble. I think anything else I could probably manage.

Darn you Tumblr, eating all the asks! I had some trouble with the planet’s description, but space-dragon!Belle and AU!Rush are getting along nicely. She’s not too fond of the soldiers that came with him though, but honestly, neither is Rush. I’ve never watched SGU, but I have read some fics, and I, like you, don’t like Young. He’s an ass. Is there anyone else you don’t like getting a not-liked mention?

Heh no Rush isn’t very fond of “little boys playing soldier” so that is very in character! Yeah I have a real loathing for Young, everyone else I’m kinda meh about. I wouldn’t worry about including anyone in particular. You don’t even have to do a “not liked” mention for Young 🙂 I was just kidding about having him roasted by the dragon – Belle would probably not like that!

I’m glad that Rush and Belle are getting on nicely. I hope that you are enjoying writing the fic! Wow I didn’t realize you hadn’t watched SGU, this must be difficult for you. You are far braver than I am, tackling an anyelle you haven’t seen. Rush is my favorite, so if there’s anything you need just hit my askbox and hopefully tumblr will behave 🙂

You know everytime there is a gift exchange I do this dance with myself “am I brave enough to sign up for anyelle or not?” For the most part I think I would be alright. I’ve seen about 15 different RC credits, including most of the popular anyelle ones, but there’s still that fear and the fear has always won. I only did anyelle for this because we had input into what anyelle we did. Are there any anyelle pairings you are scared of Zookeeper?

My dash just seems filled at the moment with speculation about season seven, who is staying/going etc. and so I’m going to state what is probably going to be a very unpopular opinion.

Unless the rumors get totally out of hand and start causing problems I don’t think we’re going to get confirmation one way or another until May.

If we know who isn’t going to around next season (presuming there is a next season at all) that will either a) be a massive spoiler as to how events will resolve themselves or b) render the rest of 6B pointless because will people still be invested if they learn their favorites are leaving?

They want to keep as many people watching as they can for as long as possible. I suspect they know already but they aren’t going to screw themselves over by announcing stuff before they absolutely have to do so.

Your Zookeeper is still chipping away at this gift! But may I just say the Rush gifs you post are most inspiring? Ah, inspiration. :D

Right Once is back tonight!

I live in the UK and we don’t get the episode until Wednesday when it gets added to netflix. My intention at the moment is to avoid my dash until I’ve seen the episode. I might break that because I have very poor self-control but generally I prefer to see the episode, and form opinions for myself.

Consider this a bit of a PSA – Artists, writers PLEASE REBLOG YOUR STUFF. I want to read, I want to reblog, I want to give you the props you deserve for being amazing but if you post at the beginning of the week I might not see it. Neither will anyone else in my position.

We should have a great Friday reblog or something.

Anyway, I should be reviewing every episode like I did for 6A; forming headcanons, and theories, and analyzing character motivations, and all that stuff. I’ll just be late to the party as always because unless *whistles innocently* something inexplicable happens, it’ll be Wednesday night before I can watch. Either way, soon we will know what happened next…

Camp NaNoWriMo: Rumbelle Style

It is 2017 but apparently the new banners aren’t in yet. The site has relaunched though and I’m too impatient to wait.

Yes it is that time of year. April is Camp NaNo. For anyone that doesn’t know Camp NaNo is different from regular November NaNo in two crucial ways:

  1. You can set your own word count goal
  2. They have these things called cabins

It is because of these cabins that I am making this post. Every camp session I run a cabin, they are for 12 writers and they have like a messageboard thing allowing communication on the NaNo site. I’ve always found it’s easier to write knowing I’m among friends, rather than sitting alone banging my head against the keyboard. I’ve been doing Camp NaNo for years and it always sucks if the cabin is a ghost town so in my cabin:

  1. I post daily facts everyday for inspiration purposes
  2. I post a daily word count challenge
  3. Time zones permitting I run word sprints

Generally I’ve found that so long as somebody’s talking, then the cabin picks up in activity anyway. Right so why am I putting this in the Rumbelle tag? Because I think it would be really cool if it was a Rumbelle cabin. Got a fanfic you want to finish? Taking part in @maydaymenagerie? Just wanting a boost in the writing stakes? I said to my anon yesterday that everyone should have a writing cheerleader and I think we can be that for one another.

I’ve been toying with this but my muse is dead and I have no big projects to work on right now. 🙁

It’s not for another month. Besides, you don’t have to work on a big single project – I’m not. Camp NaNo is a lot more relaxed than regular NaNo, it’s not even rebelling to work on lots of projects at once. I’ll be counting all the words I write during April, so long as it’s fiction it’ll get added to the total. My project as it were will be to finish as many things as I can manage.

Camp NaNo actually has sections for scripts, revision, short stories etc. November NaNo is kinda billed at “writing a novel” in a month, but Camp is more about just making progress on things, and getting stuff done in a supportive and friendly environment. Plus you can set your own word count goal and you can change that goal as many times as you like up until the 20th of April. I just experimented and it accepted 1000 words as a goal. So there’s no real barrier to joining in the fun 🙂

Just saw someone asking about Camp NaNo so I thought this might be a good time for a reblog, we’re nearly at the middle of the month anyway. We still have 3 spaces left in the cabin if anyone else wants to join us 🙂

Ooooh that’s great! Massive congrats! It always feels so good to finish things, yay you! 🙂 I haven’t started my Menagerie fic yet as such. I have my plot, the start of an outline, and three scenes which came to me at 3am and I had to write in note form on my phone. I’ve done pretty well with finishing things up myself so very soon the Menagerie fic will have my full attention as well 🙂

Yeah my askbox is always open and I don’t mind if you send a million messages heh 🙂 It’s all good. I hope you have a brilliant week and the fic treats you kindly!

Everybody’s panicking about Castro’s talk about the end of the series… but seriously, am I the only one happy about this?

Panicking? I could only panic about it because I do not how to celebrate it, THIS COULD FINALLY END, the awful writing, the cliche, the rape culture couple (cough CS cough), the pointless plots and useless new characters, the dropped plots, the BLATANT RETCONING, THE OCCNESS, CS, it could all end, AND BEFORE SOMEONE SAYS TO STOP WATCHING IF YOU HATE IT, I SAY THIS. I WOULD HAVE DONE IT IF NOT FOR ROBERT CARLYLE AND HIS AMAZING ACTING SKILLS 

Shit.  The show ended for me already.

It’s been sitting out in the sun, bloated and rotting, for a couple of seasons at this point.  It’s about time they hooked a toe tag on it and shoved it in the morgue for good.

My only fear is that the fic will dry up and the Rumbelle fandom will disperse. I would miss you guys so much. The canon means nothing to me but this fandom is a huge part of my life.

Same. I love Rumbelle forever and I have people in this fandom that I seriously don’t know what I would do without. I would miss the people so much. ❤

This post thread is so reassuring. My big fear about cancellation was that the fandom would suddenly disappear like smoke on the wind. I know I’ve only been part of this community for less than a year but I would really miss it.

I guess maybe because we’ve been existing in spite of canon for a while, canon not being around will perhaps not be as big a deal as it might have been. I’m certainly not planning on going anywhere whether we get a season seven or not 🙂

Your Zookeeper has 2 questions: First, on the matter of smut, yes or no? I can go either way, it’s at your discretion. Secondly, my usual style of writing is failing me, so do you have a problem with the story being told mainly from Belle’s POV? Apparently I can’t write science fiction clearly to save my sole, but I think I could handle Belle watching from the outside looking in, sort working up to the fact that she’s more than she appears, too. Thoughts? (Help?)

Heya *waves* You have questions, I hopefully have answers 🙂

1) When it comes to smut I think I put this on my signup form, it’s cool either way. So if the story works for smut and you want to write it then great! If the story doesn’t work, or you don’t want to, then also great. Ultimately it’s what feels right for you. I guess that’s a bad answer, seeing as you said it was at my discretion heh, but I just wanted to make that clear. I guess if it works for the story, it makes sense, Rush and Belle are in character, and you are ok with it, then smut is always welcome. Is that an ok answer?

2) I love science fiction. Seriously it’s probably my favorite genre so if you have any questions/there’s anything I can do to help, then feel free to blow up my askbox as much as you’d like 🙂 That being said, write in whatever POV works for you. I really don’t mind. This is your story. I want you to have fun writing it. If sci-fi is really doing your head in, then don’t make it sci-fi. Go back to the pure fantasy you proposed to begin with. Please don’t be miserable!
