Ok current status is screaming. Sorry sorry I will try and control myself but holy shit my heart is pounding like crazy.

I had such anxiety. The suspense was really suspenseful waiting for the gorn to jump out at them.

I legit screamed when I realised it was Scotty!!! Like part of me is sighing because so we need another TOS import? I mean I love him but poor Ortegas needs more screen time dammit. I just get worried when they bring in the “big hitters” that they will forget the SNW natives. But he was seriously cool. One thing they have done so right is really nail the casting (recasting?) of the younger versions of TOS. I mean I never liked Kirk (well I don’t like Shatner tbh) but SNW Kirk is alright. Uhura is “protect at all costs”, Spock is well Spock. Yeah.

Anyway I liked how they nailed junk to the shuttle to make it look more wrecked. Not gonna lie I got real Firefly vibes from that. Hello Serenity, I am a leaf on the wind. Oh wait better not, if anything happens to Ortegas I riot.

I saw a still of the episode prior to watching of Batel on the transport pad so I thought she had escaped fridging. With her fate up in the air… honestly idk which will way they will go.

I am terrified for La’an and Ortegas over on the gorn ship. I think that M’Benga and Sam Kirk have plot armour (didn’t they both appear on TOS?) but so far as I know Ortegas and La’an have no such protection. This has to be La’an’s worst nightmare revisited and man she’s had a tough season.

I did like the glimpse of what Ortegas did during the war. Piloting drop ships like what took Chapel in the flashback? Makes more sense than always piloting a big ship like Enterprise. I almost found Erica wanting to be on a landing party to be a wink to the fourth wall. Maybe it’s just my own desperation to know more about them, but it felt like Erica was saying “make me more than the pilot”. I mean they are an incredible pilot but I wish to see more layers, know more backstory etc.

I did roll my eyes a bit that Chapel was the only survivor of the Cayuga. I know that she had to live because she’s in TOS but ugh, couldn’t she at least have had a friend or two who also survived? As it stands given they couldn’t scan for life signs I am wondering if there were survivors on the wreck and they just rocketed them to explode on the planet. I mean when they thought about using the saucer why was that not even mentioned?

5000 people plus crew shore side into that diner place? It feels more like about TV budget for extras rather than makes sense that again they would be the only ones across all of the surface. Nobody else barricaded in their basement? Hiding in the trunk of their space car? I guess we could say maybe they were there and the gorn beamed them up as well. Let’s go with that.

Ok so how do they get out of this? Well Pike needs to make a decision and fast. I am thinking they should launch a tracker at the gorn ships and then warp out of there. Make repairs and then follow the gorn ship and use surprise to sneak aboard and rescue their people. You know a bit like how they are always beaming on Borg ships etc.

As for saving Batel the gorn don’t like the cold. They could cryo freeze her, maybe?

Anyway now I am back with the tantrum of having to wait who knows how long 🤣

At least maybe now we know why they renewed SNW for season 3 early. I mean I guess with the writers strike they could change their mind. They reversed Stumptown’s renewal because of the covid shutdown delays. But I am going to cling to the renewal announcement and just cross fingers 🤞 that we do get it eventually. Bloody cliffhangers.
