Synopsis: The phone in the library had always been silent, until one day it started ringing. Belle French answers it and discovers that life really can turn on a dime – or in this case a wrong number.

Note: Have some fluff before the episode tonight 🙂 There’s definitely going to be another chapter or two, but the next thing I’m planning on posting is Chapter Five of Faith of the Heart, on Tuesday. Enjoy!

Gold was
sweating. All that could be heard was the clinking sound of the cutlery against
the plates. This was a disaster, it
was beyond awkward and Belle would never want to see him again. He swallowed
nervously, he knew he should break the silence and make conversation, but he
didn’t know what to say.

It felt
uncomfortably warm in the kitchen, perhaps because of the heat from the stove,
and he was grateful that he had shed his jacket and tie, undoing the top two
buttons of his shirt. Nobody aside from Bae and his doctor had seen him this
undressed in years, his suit was his armor but he didn’t think he needed that
with Belle.

Aww! All the adorable awkward babes. Holy crap that first part though, Gold with no jacket, no tied, and buttons undone is like practically naked! 😉

I’m glad Mary Margaret let Emma come over. Sad though that Belle had to be there. I mean Gold is obviously a good father, why wouldn’t he be good to Emma too. Ugh.

Heh thanks, I’m really pleased you are enjoying it 🙂 Yup I was going for the look Gold had at the beginning of â€˜The Crocodile’. Actually I’m not sure now whether he had a tie on, or not, but he was at least just in a shirt (no jacket) when he stepped in from the garden.

With Mary Margaret I think she knows that Gold must be a good father, because she has spent time with Bae. However, all the rumors about him around town just make her uneasy. She probably rationalizes it to herself as â€œBae is welcome here” and “Mr. Gold is a busy man, probably doesn’t want two children under foot” etc. and doesn’t even really realize how prejudiced she’s being. However, having a second adult (and a woman) around makes the situation look different.

I headcanon that David will probably apologize for the initial wariness at some point in the future. Gold will accept it because he loves his son, and wants to protect him so he understands why they did it. He’s probably slightly bitter that people think he’s someone they need to protect against, but there’s nothing he can do to change that.

How cute is this! Bae asking the important question made me laugh. Poor Bae, he must be imagining the horrors of being stuck with a stepmother IN PINK. Could there be something worse? lol

Not sure why MM called Gold’s house if she wasn’t going to let Emma have a playdate. Maybe she wanted to suggest they go to a public place or sth? Anyway, her reaction to Belle’s presence was too funny. I could almost hear her going from ‘Is this woman crazy??’ to ‘DATENIGHTWITHHUBBY!

LOL. And of course I love that they’re officially dating now. ADORABLE!

Mary Margaret called Gold’s house to arrange a playdate. However, she was originally going to invite Bae over to their house again, despite Emma’s wish to go over to the Gold’s house. Bae would have likely said something like “you should come to my house, the garden is awesome.”

Learning that Belle was dating Gold, changed Mary Margaret’s mind. That is why she said â€œwell that changes things.” She’s still suspicious of Gold but that will change in time, once she actually gets to know him, as right now all she knows is the rumors that fly around town. Mary Margaret knows that it doesn’t quite add up, as Bae is such a lovely happy child, and having Belle as a chaperone just sealed the deal.

I’m really glad you liked it! 🙂
