5) Do you think stories can change lives? Is there a story that has changed yours?

Yes I do think stories can change lives. Sometimes in big ways because by identifying with characters or situations people can have revelations about themselves. They can finally understand something they’d been feeling for a while, they can realize that they aren’t alone etc. It can be in smaller ways as well, for instance letting people escape reality for a better world for a little while. Giving them hope by letting them see that the bad guys can be defeated, or that somebody in a bad situation can get into a better one.

Stories can change lives in a lot of ways. What I’ve just said is only a fraction of the ways I believe it’s possible. Has a particular story changed my life? Yeah I think so. Certain stories or fictional worlds have come into my life when I needed them. I’ve drawn comfort from them, I’ve drawn inspiration. Plus it’s a story – Once Upon a Time – that has led me to this fandom. I’ll always be grateful for that.

7) Do you listen to music while you write/read?
I listen to music all the time. Unless I’m watching TV or with other people, then music is playing. I need it because music is a consistent sound and it normalizes the background, taking away the unexpected. I wouldn’t say I’m strictly listening to music all the time. Sometimes I pay attention to the songs but mostly it just helps keep me calm. So yeah I listen to music when writing/reading, it helps with the focus. Otherwise I’m constantly jumping at every slight bump or sound of conversation. My bio is accurate! I never go anywhere without my iPod 🙂
