lol La’an has grown on me massively. Become one of my faves. In season 1 I was very meh but now awwww. Banter with Una and being like I’m avoiding talking about Spock by poking you where it hurts (what Una doesn’t want to talk about) is so on brand. Cute moment. I could totally do without the Spock romance but I did promise to stop beating that dead horse.

Pelia 🤣 I wish she would get some more material than being the comedy hour but I love her anyway. And ofc it wouldn’t work if she’s another species??? I mean the genetics would be…. Ok I’m not a scientist but it sounds dangerous.

And yes I am angry. 4 and a half Vulcan – apparently bigotry in a gene injection WTF. I mean I don’t understand why it affected their knowledge and abilities. They shouldn’t have been able to superspeed the repair. I mean I think I had the same complaint when Spock turned human and instantly lost all his cultural mannerisms (how he talked, moved etc.) because some things are learned and not genetic!

They committed to the bit though with Pike redoing the voiceover which was a nice touch.

I know I shouldn’t prejudge but this definitely feels like it’s going to be the weakest episode of the season. I’ll try and look for the good parts.

Oh lord 🫣 Uhura this is painful. And Kirk is back again??? Oh man Pike this is farcical and is it changing them? I mean they don’t seem themselves. And what is up with Ortegas brother?? Is La’an going evil? What was that “not permitted to discuss” with Pike? Are they saying that La’an is actually Romulan? I’m confused!

Uhura can mind meld?? Doesn’t that take training? I’m in pain. Una has a Vulcan ex? Guessing that’s her reason for avoiding shore leave and what the hell? Una is suddenly OOC and oh lord

Una lying and fake married and this is excruciating!

Pike dropping Marie in it 😱 they both deserved her yelling at them. The Vulcan bigotry seems so extreme.

Ok that episode was like 3/10 if I am being generous. It sucked and worse! The writing was illogical in the “logical” episode like just ugh!
