La’an giving Spock a dance lesson is so sweet. That’s not in her job description so she’s being a friend and I love that for her. Spock though dude haven’t you heard how linked dancing and fighting are? Why you so surprised La’an is good?
Spock is so love struck, grooming himself in the view screens. And then Chapel showed up with a date. Now I haven’t watched TOS fully (just sporadic episodes) but I read that Chapel in that follows Spock around like she loves him and he wants none of it. This take on their backstory is I guess saying that Spock got burned and is like nope you had your chance and blew it.
Awww I always watch the credits. So good. I always skip Voyagers and DS9’s tbh but the new Trek ones are good.
Ooooh Uhura’s hair. Love her. Ortegas being all punchy nice. Oh! Una has new hair too and oh lord that smile 😱 I know it’s rude to speculate but has she had some work done. That looked kinda scary.
I had to pause during the showing of Pike and Batel’s joint belongings because for a moment I was like rings??? But no I think they are earring hoops?
Batel teasing Pike about his hair products seemed like a wink to the fandom that teases about Pike’s hair defying gravity more and more lol.

“Not aware we have a Vulcan bartender” implies that bartender is an actual position on the ship 😂 like can you imagine with all the stuff the enterprise goes through. I mean I know TNG had Guinan but she wasn’t exactly starfleet? So I never connected that.
Ok I figured Spock was dreaming but now I’m not so sure? Like is this alternate reality Groundhog Day? I’m guessing this dude is a Q but not sure what’s going on with Korby because the glare not-Q gave him suggested Korby had sabotaged it somehow so he’s aware this isn’t right?

Is this before the Trek universe ever met Q? I think so 🤔 because wasn’t it the first episode of TNG? Not sure why they didn’t know about him then, if they learn about the Q continuum now?

Pike’s off the cuff speech was awkward lol. It didn’t seem to go down well with those blue folks but then typical Pike ending “the bar is open”. Very cool bartender with multiple arms.
Also “digging on the old homeworld” is sending me 🤣 I have a sort of headcanon that the Q are ascended ancients (from Stargate) and that fits.
I wonder if we will see that cool bartender again?

Ok! that was great actually. Not something I thought I would ever say about a Spock and Chapel centered episode because I am so over that. But it flowed well.
