Hey Sam! We seem to have more and more in common with each passing message! I also dislike Zelena and Hook, and the Blue Fairy (to a lesser, less visceral extent). I don’t write much angst, and never character death! So we’re good there. Now my next question: Which Rumple/Gold do you like best? I haven’t firmly plotted your story yet, so I could go either fluffier, more moral and upright Rum, or Space!Dark One. Your choice! Hope you’re well – Santa

Hey Santa *waves*

Great to hear from you again! Hmm wow that is a really good question. I suppose either way he has a softer side towards Belle, letting her see behind his mask – it is just about the mask he shows the world. While he’s fun as the crazy playful Dark One, I’ve always been more fond of him as the sarcastic emotionless dealmaker. On the surface a bastard, but deep down so much more than that.

Everybody thinks he doesn’t care because he exacts a price, but what they never seem to understand is that the price is never more than they can pay. It’s all set out in a contract so it’s all very clear and everybody knows what they are getting. It’s a win/win. They get what they want, he gets something he wants. Plus he would only take jobs that he was comfortable with, because otherwise his “price” would be too high. However, everyone still hates him because he doesn’t do things because it’s right. He might quip that a man has to make a living. He’s definitely grey, though most would probably consider him a villain. He’s done things, or walked away from situations, and his conscience has let him.

It’s up to you of course how you write him. What I want most is for you to have fun and enjoy this. So if you get started and you would have more fun writing him as the crazy playful Dark One, as opposed to the more reserved Mr. Gold, then go right ahead. I want you to enjoy this!

How are you Santa? You know I love Stargate, but do you have any other shows that you absolutely love? What about music? Do you listen when you write? I hope you have a good weekend! 🙂
