1. Favorite Book?
Well I’m not sure that I really have a favourite. Back in the day I would have said Goblet of Fire but after looking practically at the books I don’t really know if I like any of them that much. It’s the world and the characters that I love.

2. Least Favorite book so far?
Deathly Hallows, that even trumped Order of the Pheonix which I didn’t like in the first place and then got associated with bad memories.

3. Favorite movie so far?
I don’t really like the movies as they leave a lot of the books out (which I can understand) but then take completely the wrong things from the books and make up others. Also, although I have seen all of the films once I can hardly remember them to make an effective comparison.

4. Least favorite movie so far?
OotP as it was the last one I saw and there were bits that just weren’t right like the christmas scene.

5. Number of times you have re-read the series?
God I don’t know. I’ve ready GoF into double figures and the rest maybe half a dozen times apart from Deathy hallows which I’ve read once. I’ve also read snippets like the parts with Tonks or Remus dozens of times.

6. Favorite character?
Tonks.

7. Most hated character?
I don’t really hate any of the characters because they make up the world and have their own parts to play. However, if it was hating the person the character was then I’d have to say Delores Umbridge. I’ve never understood this love to hate thing people have but I don’t love to hate her I really do hate her.

8. Most annoying character?
Ok same rationale as above I’d have to say Professor McGonagall as she’s blind, doesn ‘t see and doesn’t listen. A bit like the three monkeys. Of course that could be just JK’s writing of her, after all we don’t see behind the scenes do we.

9. Favorite Spell (book or movie)
Accio as I wish so badly that it works regularly. However, when I’m tired and out shopping or something I wish I could conjure a chair, amke bags featherlight or just apparate where I want to go.

10. Favorite magical animal?
I don’t know how to answer this because animal isn’t the right word and creature isn’t really either so I guess it’s my favourite other magical race would be the goblins. I don’t like how JK portrays them. However, for an animal I don’t think I could name them as I’m a bit animal phobic, I could never own an owl, birds scare me.

11. Which magical object wouldn’t you mind having?
I’d have to agree with MrsTater here, who I pinched this meme from again. “A wand!”because with one everything else would follow.

12. Do think Harry or his scar is Horocrux?
Ok this meme is from before Deathly Hallows but I did believe he was a horocrux before the book came out. That’s my theory behind how he survived that night as I don’t believe the blood protection exists.

13. Snape: friend or foe?
Ok again same as above before the book came out I have to say I didn’t really have an opinion. I knew he wasn’t a nice bloke and I like tortured heroes in stories a lot but I just couldn’t tell, could have gone either way really although I like how he turned out friend despite the total cliche of Snape loving Lily.

14. Out of these which would you want?
1. A skilled legilimens
2. An Animangus (If this, what form?)
3. Metamorphmagus
4. To Speak Parseltonuge

Metamorphmagus becuase I could look how I wanted and imagine if you could look exactly how I wanted how confident you would feel. Although I wouldn’t tell anyone of my ability because that could get perverted.

15. Which house would you be in?
Hufflepuff

16. Strangest theory(ies) you have heard so far?
Well MrsTaters are a bit wacky but honestly I don’t frequent forums and although I have read a lot of fanfiction it tends to lean towards my own tastes with Dumbles being manipulative and self serving and all the conspiracy that comes with that.

17. Favorite book moment?
I don’t like book 7 but I loved Neville in it walking towards the trio bearing the marks of his resistance, his head held high. I love Neville and he deserved his moment.

18. Book moment that made you cry?
I cried when Cedric died and I cried when Sirius died. Might have cried when Dumbles died can’t remember. Didn’t cry much for any of them as I don’t do crying really. Cried most for Sirius despite my hatred of the book, stupid prophecy which undermines the meaning of the books.

19. Favorite Movie Quote?
Can’t really remember any of the movies. The only clip that is stuck in my head is Bellatrix taunting Neville about his parents going. “How are mum and dad?” but it’s not a favourite, just the only one I can remember with any clarity.

20. Favorite Book Quote?
I liked Dumbles line about “Choices defining us more than abilities” which I think was the meaning which DH and the prophecy made a mockery of. Don’t know, like I said not a fan of the books so much anymore as the world.

To get away from my vacation reports now that I’ve finished posting them I thought I’d fill this in. I found it on MrsTaters Livejournal. She writes excellent Remus/Tonks fanfic. Anyway, here’s my response.

List the Hogwarts Houses in order of which House you’d most likely be Sorted into (1 being most likely):
1. Hufflepuff
2. Ravenclaw
3. Gryffindor
4. Slytherin

List 3 characters you think you’d be good friends with:
They seem to be boys, which is odd as I don’t actually have any male friends in real life.
1. Neville Longbottom - even though I don’t think I’d get sorted into Gryffindor he didn’t have many friends inside his house and I’m terrible at making friends so we could group together.
2. Percy Weasley - I have a slight obsession with the rules myself and although I’ve never been pompous I was extremely proud to be made a prefect, although I didn’t make Head Girl, bloody school politics.
3. Hermione Granger - I’d be very jealous of her brains as I want to be smart and am sort of smart but not brilliant like she is. However, I couldn’t not be friends with her, she’s the person I want to be like, a kindred spirit whether she’d annoy me or not.

List 3 characters you think you’d get into catfights with:
1. Hermione Granger - it would depend on how good a friends we were, if we were close friends no but if she wasn’t my main friend then my jealousy would probably spark a few fights.
2. Draco Malfoy - I don’t stand for bullies which is probably why I’ve been bullied a lot at school. I’ll stick up for other people and make myself a target. It’s probably the only Gryffindor trait I have.
3. Ron Weasley - his blinkered biased view at the world would annoy me no end. We’d probably have many fights over how not all Slytherins are evil and not all Gryffindors good (something I think JKR herself must have believed looking at the composition of the final battle)

List 3 characters you think you’d ask on a date:
I wouldn’t ask anybody, don’t have the courage which is perhaps why I’ve yet to have a boyfriend.

List 3 characters you think would ask you on a date:
I don’t think anybody would (no-one has yet) but I wouldn’t say no to:
1. Neville Longbottom
2. Remus Lupin (if I was 20 years older otherwise it’s a little creepy as he’d be old enough to be my dad)
3. Fred or George Weasley (it would be such fun being popular for once but it wouldn’t last)

List 2 classes you think you’d excel in:
1. Charms
2. Transfiguration

List 2 classes you think you’d fail:
1. Ancient Runes
2. Flying

What form do you think your Patronus would take?
A dog

What ‘rare’ ability (like Parseltongue, Animgery, or speaking Mermish) would you have?
I have to agree with MrsTater so will quote her answer - “Animagery, so I could stop being human whenever I feel peopled-out.”

What’s in your wand?
Beech, 9 inches, dragon heartstring

The Wizengamot is thinking of exiling you from the Wizarding world. What’s your defense?
I’m innocent? I don’t know accept it because the muggle world is ok and learn wandless magic or pick up a new unregistered wand in Knockturn.

In what way do you think you’d not fit in the Wizarding world?
I have common sense. Seriously, look at Deathly Hallows escape from Privet Drive, could they draw anymore attention to themselves? Honestly no logic.

If Dumbledore’s Army was illegally re-formed but necessary for keeping Hogwarts safe, would you join?
I wouldn’t want to as it was against the rules but I would like to think I would rise above that. Mind you it wouldn’t be very good for self preservation. Maybe my Slytherin side would kick in and I’d find a less obvious way to beat the bad guys.

What illegal magical object would you find most useful?
A second wand? I don’t know I don’t really do illegal. I’d love an invisibility cloak though.

Say you were Sorted into Slytherin, and as a result, you began getting a bad rep for no reason. What do you say?
Try the logical argument (see Ron Weasley cat fight) but I’d probably just keep my head down and try and be friendly and wait for people to see they were wrong about me.

Is this how the Death Eaters started? Are they not evil, just alienated and misunderstood?
Maybe it’s what drove a few in that direction. That’s one thing HP annoys me about, how the baddies are 2D. But ultimately you can’t blame being evil and torture and murder or a bad childhood or prejudice.

Would you have participated in the Final Battle if given the option?
I think that having a final battle at all was stupid of both the good guys and the bad guys. Honestly, that’s not how it should work for people with common sense. Again though, to answer, I’d like to think I would but not sure if I actually would. If I did I’d be like that girl Ginny found saying they wanted their mum.

Who would you have dueled and won against?
I would have dueled with anyone who was firing at me and then shot curses at other baddies if I wasn’t having to protect myself first. I’d like to get Bellatrix and Dolohov because I wanted Remus and Tonks to live as they are my favourite characters. Also Greyback because he’s so evil to children.

Any advice to real wizards and witches out there from a Muggle perspective?
Magic isn’t the only solution. Have a little common sense.

It’s been a long time . . .

. . . over a month actually. How appalling! My only defense is that I’ve been busy. Within this month was my last couple of weeks at school and half of my A level exams. Oh my computer also got delivered so I’ve been tinkering with that in my spare moments. It’s an amazing beast of a machine. I also recieved my copy of Adobe Creative Suite 3: Master Collection. I’ve installed it but it’s unfortunately doing the cyber equivilent of gathering dust right now. I have four more exams left, one General Studies which is tomorrow, two politics on wednesday and a final politics on friday and then I’m free! So far I think they’ve gone ok. My computing paper was a disaster but on the upside I think my coursework was really good so the grade should balance out to be ok. The General Studies and Psychology papers I sat last week were ok too. I was worried about the Psychology one, the Health and Research Methods paper but I felt positive about it. I took the Psychology synoptic this afternoon and I feel decidedly not positive about it. Never mind though it can’t be changed so I’ll try not to worry about it.

Now changing the subject away from the depressing subject of exams. The other night insomnia met snarkiness and I tore apart the first Harry Potter book and in a fit of inspiration (or madness) wrote a discussion on ‘Why I love the world but hate the plot’. It’s surprisingly well reasoned for something done at night time of night and has supporting evidence and everything. If I feel up to it next week, or sometime this summer, when the only demands on my time are keeping house for my mum (it’s my job unless I actually get a job so cooking, cleaning, washing, ironing etc. here I come) and working through my projects which have got thrown by the wayside during the school year, I might type it up, this blog should have something vaguely resembling content rather than my boring rambles, one day I might even get a visitor that isn’t a spam bot! Woah that was a long sentence, clearly my grammer and sentence crafting skills are deserting me.

Till the next time!
