A Level Results

It’s been a week since I last updated but I just couldn’t concentrate because I was waiting for Thursday 14th August to roll round. In the morning I got my confirmation of a place at my first choice chosen university of Stafford so I knew my results couldn’t be that bad. I still was reluctant to go and pick them up though because I knew what I was likely to get and what I wanted and the two, although similar, were different.

I wanted a B in computing, a C in Government and Politics and a C (alright a B) in Psychology. What I got was a C in all three which was fine and so I’m part happy and part slightly disappointed I suppose. As I’m going on to do Computing at university I wanted it to be my best A level and it wasn’t (I got a B in General Studies). I wasn’t required to have done a computing A level at all so it doesn’t matter, it would have just made me feel better.

Anyway, I am pleased with them once the reality sunk in. To celebrate mum and I went to Norwich and went shopping in Chapelfield and I spent the reward money my grandparents had gifted me. We then had dinner out at Tootsies which was really tasty (I had the baby back BBQ ribs) but we left earlier than intended because a group of boys (also celebrating) got really loud at the next table, swearing all the time, they’d been drinking and it was just time to go really.

My mum said she’d get me something to reward me. I told her she didn’t have to but she persisted so I asked for the TV boxset of New Tricks which is out on september 1st. She then said she was going to get that anyway and told me to pick something else. Now for a while I’ve been thinking about getting a graphics tablet and so mum said she’d get that. I now need to research it, I’ll post later what I find.

Oh and this morning I got my accommodation offer. It was what I wanted an ensuite room in the campus halls. I just need to sign the agreement and sent it back. Moving in day is Sunday September 14th.

Yippee, well done, Spy_Master! That’s great news. I’m pleased that you got your first choice, and pleased to hear that the accommodation is what you wanted too. The four weeks will pass quickly, so make the most of them. Your mum must be very proud of you, and I hope you’ll be feeling proud of yourself, because you’ve every right to. I’m so pleased. Congratulations, and best wishes for your university years.
