The Deep

I recorded this when it was on Five on Tuesday on my uber cool hard disk, stripped the adverts and then watched it the following day. Much better than sitting through at least 15 minutes worth of adverts. I swear they are getting longer.

Anyway, another clip from the credits was in this episode. I always look out for those. It was the decayed body which was kind of disgusting and a little creepy when they discovered the second one underwater. My mum kept commenting on how low cut Stella’s tops were. For my part I hope it’s to try and get Mac to notice her although I didn’t notice his eyes slipping. Anyway, the crew had even more groovy toys this week, how they managed to afford that underwater probe I don’t know. Also, I find it odd that two of them are scuba certified, after all they live in New York and who would want to dive there with the pollution and stuff.

My big complaint about this episode is that Mac went off the deep end. He choked the guy they had in custody and then seemed to be in two minds as to shoot the remaining suspect even though he wasn’t armed. Real edgy. I suppose it could be the lack of sleep what with those 333 calls. Now I’ve studiously avoided spoilers for the 333 storyline, everything else was fair game but I wanted to watch this play out with no pre-conceptions. This Drew guy who’s stalking Stella has to have something to do with it enless it’s a separate storyline about her being stalked which I doubt would go ever well after what happened with Frankie, she really has no luck with men. Mind you last episode I was convinced that there being three victims in the case was significant to the storyline.

Not quite sure what’s going on with Danny and Lindsay. Before he flirted with her and she was all business, now it seems to be the reverse. I’m sure there’s a really interesting missing moment behind that. A good episode. Not fantastic but ok. I guess I’d give it 6/10. The case didn’t grip me and it didn’t feel it was that realistic to qualify for anything better.
